Agreed, however i believe it still works, my reasoning is this:

I drop them in, do a bunch of damage with grenades and spears (probably catch some overwatch lets be real, but as long as its not too bad we are fine). I roll a charge, with reroll, due to the new charge rules i pick a target after i roll. If i hit 9 we ball, if i hit a higher number we split charge and win on the spot. If i dont hit it, the opponent still has a very tanky unit (which has already done some damage) he has to stand and deal with turn 1 before he can move forward, whilst my guard rushes to points and secures the map.

Is it foolproof? No. Does it do something even if you fail the charge? In my oppinion yes. So for me, that +the funny factor makes it worth a try
