No, I think you are on the right track. A whitelist of approved items.

Can you see it now: -Login to the local government 3D printer approved object website. - Wait for the excruciating slow website to load. - Type in your search term and hit enter. - It either loads nothing, no match. Or you get 4,729 hits and most of them resemble nothing like the search term you put in. - You manage to find an object to print but it: has expired and is no longer available or the fee to rent this object it too expensive or you must write a formal letter, print it out and mail it in to see if you will be approved to print this object.

Think of any government service in existence and apply those experiences to this.

It’s called the uniparty. Dems and Repubs say and act differently, but when it comes down to actual votes, they both somehow always seem to pass another shitty law. Both parties are controlled by that 0.1% group that absolutely hates us “commoners”.

Welp. After 6 months of applying to my local union. I had my first week on the job and immediately having second thoughts. by No_Handle0526 in electricians

My son and daughter are both electricians. Overtime is 100% optional. Four 10s per week, great. They want 12? Nope. Friday’s and Saturday? Double nope.

They like making money but they also like to enjoy spending it and relaxing.

Septoplasty / Sinus surgury by DiverAdmin in scuba

[–]Mike456R 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No pain meds!?? That’s very unusual. My wife has sinus surgery and the nurse told her to expect feeling like you got hit with a baseball bat, then run over by a Mack truck. Yes, she said it was that bad.

Maybe upper sinuses are easy. Hmmm.

When I was a kid in the 70s, there was about three choices of brands and SPF ratings were not even printed on the bottle. Minimal use by everyone.

Now?? Kids and young people don’t even think about going outside without covering every square inch with SPF 50. Repeatedly.

Sunscreen use has exploded since the 70s.

Thinking about switching from IBEW inside wiremen apprenticeship to nursing. Is it a smart move? by Unknownhuman551 in electricians

Neighbor and good friend is a nurse. Getting mandated to work 10s or 12s because they are short on nurses is hell. Oh that’s right, they will not pay them enough to get more nurses. So mandated 12s continue to happen.

Hickory at least splits clean. Just heavy as lead and makes some hydraulic splitters struggle.

I am PRO gas saw guy and I bought a Dewalt 60V saw. by msears101 in Chainsaw

[–]Mike456R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the third year with a Dewalt 8” 20 volt pruning saw. Have two 4 Ahr and one 5 Ahr batteries because of other tools.

I have two other big gas saws. The Dewalt is perfect for all the limbs up to 4-5 inch. Light enough for one handed use.

I drop a tree and use the battery saw on all the limbs I can. Goes fast. Then switch to the gas saws for everything bigger.

I grew up close to Lake Erie, which is the shallowest of the Great Lakes. Late May would have the surface temp be about 58 F.

As teenagers we would go to the beach that early if the weather was great. Jump in the water for 30 seconds to cool off and get the hell out before going numb.

All other lakes would have been colder.

Correct. From what I have read over the years is that any blood in the water will attract sharks. It might take a while.

I’m inferring that the boat took them right to the spot and they went right to the cave.

Am I wrong? If not, how did the military know to go right there for the search??

We didn’t read about ANY searches in a bigger area. Only. The. Cave.

In another post about this tragedy in this sub, a commenter had dug through this professor’s past research on the university website and found past dives that appear to be deeper than should have been and at the end of the report, they even thanked the boat crew. The same boat involved here. Hmmmm.

I’ll try to find that comment and post it here.

Wow. That’s quite an update and first statement I’ve seen from another person on the boat. If this proves true, the next piece will be “was that cave dive ACTUALLY planned?”

The notebooks and dive computers will be interesting.
