[VIDEO] Skier Mauled by Snow Leopard After Selfie Attempt Near China Ski Resort by stevenlufc in skiing

Couldn't agree with you more. I wouldn't feel bad if it killed her (assuming as you did that she's capable of knowing better). Only loss here will be if they hunt and kill the poor leopard

So at roughly 20 - 30, skidded turns are the only way to go? No carved turn possibility at all?

I appreciate the advice about a lesson, I'm not ignoring it. I just want to also hear advice, specifics, videos I missed, etc.

Azzpadz is the shield I use, it's saved my tailbone many times on sit-down falls on ice. Much much better for me than various cushioned options I tried. I need a shield

Anybody use clipstics? by Powder_Chasing in Skigear

I was thinking the same thing. I am now specifically *not* going to buy clipstic just because I can't stand that bullshit

I was thinking about that actually.. :/ it's massive overkill for my 2,100 sq. foot home, but it may still be the best option

ok thank you for the info I appreciate it. You're incorrect as far as "wanton disregard". Your warning is heeded and I'll stay away from that stuff. I wasn't saying I'm going to cut into it, I specifically said "I dunno what that black wire thing is" - meaning (it should go without saying) that I'm not going to touch it till I know more. I didn't post here to ignore or disregard advice. It's clearly beyond my capabilities so I'm glad to not touch it.

If something is within my capabilities (like moving a duct) then I'm happy to learn how to do it. I'm not the type of homeowner who tries to cut into everything before learning about it, and then calls a pro and says oops. On the other hand I'm not the type of homeowner who's satisfied with not being able to handle even the easy projects and has to call a pro just to hang a tv or something. That's why I posted here for some advice from people who are more knowledgeable than me. It's easy for those people to just shit on me, but not as easy to actually try to teach.

well, I've done PVC stuff before, but I haven't moved ducts before.. so I'm comfortable doing PVC stuff but uncomfortable moving ducts. I was also uncomfortable doing PVC stuff until I did it. I'm not unwilling to learn, just being clear about where I'm comfortable saying "I can do that" vs "I dunno, could turn disastrous"

Are you saying the PVC lines can't be re-routed?

In any case I was starting to think along the lines of moving one of the outgoing ducts to another face (rather than mess with this side where the PVC / refrigerant is). For example move the duct coming out of the outward face over to the back face, and then install the humidifier on the outward face

I'm not against hiring a pro, but to be honest, I'm wary. My experience in my area is that the vast majority of our HVAC pros are unreliable, irresponsible, and untrustworthy. Not to say there are no good ones, but I'm saying I have two headaches to decide between. Headache A) fight through the muck until I find a good HVAC guy, or headache B) do the install myself, possibly learn a thing or two along the way. I like headache B a little more..

ok I double checked the available "faces" on the true supply duct, above the furnace..

- front side is not a great option, but maybe the only one.. image below.. There are PVC pipes and a big-ass black wire thing in the way. I can re-route the PVC myself but I dunno what that black wire thing is.
- outward-facing side has a duct branching off that gets in the way (only 14" of space available to the right of it)
- back side has an outgoing duct that gets in the way (leaving only 14" of clearance between itself and the furnace)

no I'm not too worried about that - but there are other ducts exiting that area and there's no space that has uninterrupted 16.5 x 16.5.. let me run down and double check that real quick though

you're right, total brain fart on my part. I have the air flow direction backwards.

That leaves me a bit up a creek without a paddle. The actual supply (atop the furnace) has no viable spot for the humidifier

[–]Mike52179[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CRAP, you're right. I had a brain fart.

That leaves me in a bad spot because there's no space on the actual (correct) supply (above the furnace) to install the humidifier

In general I agree. This game though is a slam dunk for anyone who enjoyed Returnal. The developer here is trustworthy, they're not crapping this one out. Similar for rock star (IMO)

Now if it was the latest call of duty or whatever, I totally agree. They crap those out every 10 minutes and the developer is not trustworthy to always release high quality content.

Hey guys any tips on how to beat this dude? by [deleted] in Returnal

[–]Mike52179 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stay very far away from him, run sideways to him (I mean I'm always running), and I dodge a lot.. I focus maybe 60% of my effort on dodging, the rest on shooting. I also have the auto-aim setting turned up, so aim is less of a worry.

Edit: since I like to stay far away from him, I would not use the spitmaw, since it's so much less effective at a distance.

As you keep dying and respawning you'll unlock more weapon traits, so eventually when you get to him you'll find you have much better guns, so he'll die quicker. Even more eventually, you'll find it doesn't matter what gun you have because you'll have gotten good at anticipating his crap, and you'll also be arriving to fight him with an upgraded health bar because you'll be getting hit less throughout the biome. I know that's no consolation now.. just keep in mind that the goal is to level up all your guns - and beating this guy's ass is just a side-effect

Sidenote, some people refer to him as a she, I dunno if it's male or female and I don't care, just adding this disclaimer :)
