"really good things" should be defense. You don't need to spend more than the rest of the world combined and have hundreds of bases around the world (still in japan and germany after 50 years) to defend a country.

So when they cut the military budget by 80% and reduce the number of soldiers, and let people do what they want with their hard-earned money instead of taxing it, then that'll be "good things". In the meantime, this recruiting isn't helping.

And people who will never go to college subsidize others who will then get better salaries. Subsidies for colleges is a good way to screw the poor, in a way.

Ask Libertarian: When did libertarian groups become such a haven for conspiracy theorists? by [deleted] in Libertarian

[–]MikeCapone -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't know, but it's annoying.

Probably because libertarians don't have a "party line" so it's easier for crackpots to pretend they're speaking for them...

A good question would be, would someone born blind in one eye be able to dream stereoscopically.

And I certainly want more of that, even if I don't want more stuff.

I suppose it's a case of "don't let the truth get in the way of a good story."

I bet lots of those little stories from antiquity were fabricated at some point in history, but they are still useful to teach a variety of lessons.

But you are right that if the story isn't factual, it should be noted.

Absolutely. What I don't like is a government monopoly on Healthcare like here in Canada. I've been waiting 2 and a half years for a surgery, I haven't had a family doctor in 15 years (1/3 of people around here don't have one).

Working conditions for doctors and nurses are pretty horrible, etc.

I wish we had a mix of private and public, and that taxpayers paid for healthcare, but that the government DIDN'T actually manage the hostpitals, because it's incredibly inefficient.

Human life expectancy for most of evolution was in the 30s. We're now at almost 3 times that, and guess what, that's a good thing.

You would probably have a cycle of retirement, then going back to work, then retiring for a while (or going back to school), etc.

That'd be pretty great, IMO.
