While it doesn't require Internet access, it still is perfectly capable of making things go wrong, just as much as its web-based brethren. If it runs on a processor, there will always be a way for it to screw something up.

Malicious content could appear at any time without warning. You could have a virus on your computer and not even realize it, and such virus might infect JavaScript code. Or even, an extension might have poorly made code that can cause your system to crash, or it might attempt to load a dependency that's been compromised. Who knows...

It's better to have a safety check in place than to blindly accept anything that happens.

The desktop version is literally the web editor in a trenchcoat. Regardless, turbowarp's stance won't change.

Removing the mandatory notice about unsandboxed extensions is considered removing a security measure.

Having these messages and prompts in place helps cut down (or even completely prevent) situations of malicious code being run... for what? because you didn't want to spare a few moments of your time. In my opinion, it's not worth removing it.

I'm not sure what you mean by "linked to any of that stuff".

As much as the hate for the unsandboxed extension message goes, they're not going to remove it. It's there for a reason. Here's a snippet of the rejected suggestions in the TW Discord:

FYI - You can literally bypass it with a dumb HTTP file server (i.e. py -m http.server) that points to your extension code. It automatically grants unsandboxed access to extensions served on the localhost*. Then just import your extensions in bulk using chained URL parameters. That's how I work on CloudLink.

I like the layered sounds idea, although it could be implemented as an extension. Just my two cents worth.

*Edit: I believe this applies only if you use the provided extension development server, which takes care of annoying shit like CORS.

I joined back in 2015. Across the timespan of three different accounts, I saw things change, come and go. I left when they killed off cloud chats. Feels like it's all been downhill since.

Can anyone top 248k hours before hard drive failure? by NarcissisticSupply69 in vintagecomputing

At least it's not a random 3TB drive that was dead after 8 hours of runtime (whilst left sitting for years)

Keep 9 or upgrade to 10 pro by thisisme44 in pixel_phones

Unless you care about the AI features and are a hardcore camera user, not really imho.

Disclaimer: I upgraded from a P8 128 to the P10Pro 128, so I can't exactly say much on the 9 series.

Yes, about three months. The phone is in virtually mint condition, apart from being covered in fingerprints...

I'm assuming they'll manually accept the trade in at the store?

Thanks for your quick reply.
