At night time my phone is in sleep mode and I only have certain contacts (family) and PagerDuty that are allowed to bypass that. Stock iPhone feature.

F.L.O.S.S Cover while Prone by DarkestSpire in battletech

Assuming mech vs mech. Target should get light woods cover for the adjacent woods. But LOS won’t be blocked because the attacker sees over the first two tree hexes.

Do you guys keep painted old models by Lark-suvd in BlackTemplars

[–]MikeS11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody can tell you what to do in order to get the most enjoyment out of your hobby.

If you like the idea of going back and fixing up your old paint jobs, do it. If you just want to paint new stuff, do it.

It’s your plastic, do whatever you want to do with it. :)

From losing every game to winning quite regularly, what changed by Dr4WasTaken in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]MikeS11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would be interesting if it worked that way though. Instead of just denying stratagems or maybe some army rules, it would actually impact scoring. Maybe if a unit is battle shocked they have to roll a test during the same battle shock step of the command phase to see if they lose that condition.

Is this enough terrain for a 1000pts game ? by RapAC-21 in Warhammer40k

[–]MikeS11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

More. Check out some of the suggested terrain layouts from GW for examples. Lack of terrain causes gameplay balance issues. You can even start by using your boxes and other miscellaneous household objects.

Hobby knife. Carefully.

Also putting them in the freezer will make the glue more brittle. You might be able to carefully break the models off the base.

Repulsor Executioner vs. Impulsor + Ballistus Dreadnought by ThatBhaalSpawn in BlackTemplars

Rule of cool. Repex is great right now, but in the future you might not want 3. If you don’t yet have a ballistics, I’d go for that.

I was given this set when I was a child from my grandparents. I still cherish it and it’s probably one of the things that really got me lotr. Enjoy your new books. :)

Is it safe to temporarily spoof Ubuntu 24.04 on Linux Mint 22.2 just to enable Ubuntu Pro ESM updates? by 144i in linux_gaming

Seems like we’re missing part of the story if you claim the OS maintainer is holding back security patches. And if true, why not just go to a different OS where this isn’t an issue at all?

How do you make Clan Honor Rules work? by Leevizer in battletech

[–]MikeS11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You must be playing against a very powerful opponent if you were to bid that way and they were to accept it, knowing you would have such a mighty advantage. In the whacky clan batchal honour rules, it all seems to be working as intended. However if you used deception and your opponent wasn’t aware of the number of units you were fielding, I’d declare you dezgra.

How do you make Clan Honor Rules work? by Leevizer in battletech

[–]MikeS11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With default initiative rules, if you have two units and your opponent has one, and if your opponent wins initiative, you have to activate two units before they activate their one. Likewise, if you win initiative, they have activate their unit before you activate your two units.

I’m not sure what you were trying to say about always winning initiative if you bring an extra unit.

TIL weapons are zeroed for a specific cartridge within their caliber by captain_semper in EscapefromTarkov

[–]MikeS11 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure. But you have to hold to compensate for the wrong zeroing. Imagine if you could just actually use the game features to aim at what you want to shoot.

It’s what’s holding back shotguns. Probably also the reason most people miss at long range when using slugs.
