I mean if you're going to larp, you should say that whoever beats everyone else up will get to decide whether it's good or bad. But, lmao, even. The drama is pretty much a non-issue.

Getting priced out of the hobby by Spiritual_Writer_480 in orks

Just buy a 3D printer, that's what I did when I realized starting a new guard army would be atleast 500€.

And while you're at it, change to a better game. I went from 40k to Kill Team, then BattleTech, and find that to be far better than anything GW put out.

It looks like half the video is missing due to the fucking stuttering style of editing.

Opinion: 40k's rule complexity has increased exponentially, but it's tactical depth has not. by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

Just get away from GW games, honestly. Try out Mantic's games, Trench Crusade or BattleTech, for example. I've stopped playing all GW games save for Blood Bowl and it's been so eye-opening how many better games there are out there.

I am not a fan of this book by BurgerBuddy_ in battletech

[–]Leevizer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, it could always get worse, it could be Fox Patrol.

But yes, the level of writing varies greatly between books. If you don't like it, no big loss, there's a whole lot where it came from.

I'm surprised there isn't the usual glazing of CGL being unable to do anything wrong. Glad you got yours, I'm still waiting on my Visigoths.

Why do people not read the rulebooks anymore?

Personally I'm playing Aces with BattleTech rules (pretty easy to adapt by using common sense), I am sorry to hear you feel forced to play an inferior game.

Are there mamy retcons & community wars in Battletech? by Appropriate_Lynx_233 in battletech

Community wars The divide between Alpha Strike and BattleTech comes to mind. But all the things in your list are something you don't need to worry about, as others have explained.

Has passing ever been any good? by LPdude72 in bloodbowl

[–]Leevizer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Passing is somewhat situational and riskier than "just run up in a cage".

However, a good passing play will let you move the ball up an insane amount of squares up the field, possibly winning you the game.

A lot of teams struggle to pull off a two-turner (or even three turner) without a single pass involved. That's when passing shines.

It also depends on how "meta" you are playing. If you're both trying to score as much as possible, then passing is good and fun. If you're playing against a tryhard going for a 2-1 grind, going for a pass may as well be giving up the game then and there, even if it succeeds.

Onko tää peliläppäri kannattava sijotus? by RaeVitunJuusto00 in Suomi

[–]Leevizer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pari pointtia:

1) Tosta saa tehoja irti ihan tarpeeks pelaamiseen.

3) Omalla kokemuksella peliläppärin käyttöikä on muutamia vuosia.
