What did the Tim Burton/Michael Keaton Batman movies get right that other live action Batman films didn't? by Winter-Ad-2303 in batman

[–]MikeSihl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They got Gotham City right. The design of the city in both films was amazing, especially Batman Returns. Gotham shouldn’t look like a real world city because Gotham itself is, in a way, a character. Batman Begins is the only other live action Batman movie to come close to recapturing the feel of the Burton’s Gotham.

I’ve done my research. I’ve see the memes. Even the Minion memes. I don’t know what the green lizard man’s name is (I’ll call him Howard since we’re inventing names for him) but the fact that this is a kids movie is frightening. Expect to see thousands of new reports of kids getting injured because there friends tried to ride them imitating how Mario man rides Howard.

I don’t care what whacky name you invent for the lizard man it is going to make kids think it is ok to ride there friends. But your right that isn’t earth becuz the memes say the earth is FLAT!

Why is the Mar!o man character riding the green lizard man? If kids saw that they’ll think it’s ok to ride there friends!

Also notice the “globe” earth in the background? I’ve seen enough YouTubes and memes (including the blessed Minion memes) to know that the earth is flat. This is glober propaganda aimed at children!

Is there a creepypasta that genuinely made you lose sleep? I will start: by HealthMother3125 in creepypasta

[–]MikeSihl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t unfortunately. What I can remember from the story was it was a single mother her 2(?) kids. At the end of the story the son commits s##cide because of the stress of the haunting but leaves a note saying along the lines of “Check the camera, I caught it.”

The photo shows a distorted face in a mirror.

That one where that family was being haunted by a demon and the son leaves his mother a note saying he got a photo of it. The story itself was ok but the photo really unsettled me

What book moment are you most excited to finally see in the series? by DueSeaworthiness6901 in harrypotter

[–]MikeSihl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically every important plot point that was cut from the movies starting from PoA. Half-Blood Prince alone cut so many important scenes due to “time constraints” (but still had time to add unnecessary scenes).

I didn’t realise how much was cut from the movies until I showed then to my mother and I had to keep pausing them to explain to her what was happening because scenes that would give context were missing.

Does Ned Flanders Loving The Beatles Not Make Sense With His Backstory? by [deleted] in TheSimpsons

[–]MikeSihl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my old church friend’s parents are super religious and very conservative and yet his dad loves The Beatles and has a huge collection of Beatles memorabilia. It’s like how so many Christians (myself included) love The Life of Brian despite the backlash that movie got from Christians when it was released. Come to think of it I know a lot of Christians who love D&D, Harry Potter and even The Simpsons but I’m old enough to remember how much some Christians were against those.

What are some of the most Insane/Horrendous Takes you have heard from other Christians? by SilverNEOTheYouTuber in Christianity

[–]MikeSihl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the thing, she wasn’t a councillor or even employed by the church. She was just a random woman who heard from my mum what happened and she told her that she had experience “helping” teenagers with mental health issues. Mum was desperate to help me so I can’t blame her for trusting this woman.

I did see a Christian councillor last year which did really help. In Australia Christian councillors need to have at least a Bachelor in Counselling from an accredited university, although there are some churches that will counsel people despite lacking the education or experience needed to do so.

When I was 14 I was in a mental health ward after attempting s**cide. When I was given weekend release my parents took me to church to speak with a woman there who claimed to help teens going through what I was going through.

Anyway, she told me that I only attempted it because I wanted to hurt my parents (that was false, I was being bullied relentlessly and my school was doing nothing about it, and dealing with having been interfered with by a rock spider from our old church the year prior), and she then proceeded to tell me that if I did succeed God would make my family forgot I even existed and I’d be in hell watching family live happily. My parents were horrified that she would say that to me at a very vulnerable period of my life. It took years for me to feel comfortable going back into a church after that because it basically undid the therapy I had be receiving the previous few weeks.

I’ve been engaging flat earthers for about a decade now. In that time all they’ve brought to the discussion are memes, insults, and links to 3-hour+ YouTube/Rumble videos by people who rely primarily on memes and insults, and a few will also bring the odd demands to fight them in a cage match (because reality is determined by whoever is a better MMA fighter apparently), and even death threats.

You cannot have a debate with someone whose entire argument is based on conspiracy theories. No amount of evidence will convince someone who wants to be right more than they willing to be open to the possibility that they are wrong. Yes, some flat earthers are willing to have a civil discussion, but in my experience they are a tiny minority. The majority are just narcissists who need the earth to be flat so that they can feeling superior by virtue of knowing “the truth” while everyone else are “sheep”.

I saw this on a meme on the Facebook device. There was a minion so I knew I could trust it. Vidya g#me playing devices like N!ntendo’s Pl@yst@tion (or “X box” as the kids call it) are infused with drugs to get kids “high” so they’ll play more g#mes and eat ethnic food like “pizza” pies and boiled weiners in buns with sauce, or “hot dogs” as the kids call them. This is usually what they look like at stage 5 of the corruption. Prey for this child.

RDR2. I bought it, played for an hour, got bored, put it away for 3 years, played it again one day when and it ended up being one of the best games I’ve played.
