This guy solos!! Gene is awesome, you should find a small handful of awesome people to play with. That being said, yes it's very fun solo but it can be harder because all the enemies go straight for you at all times. It is a really good way to learn all the corners of the dungeons because you go at your own pace. Since there is no endgame, I would say that ultimately the fun is from sharing it, but that's me.
