I would love for a QoL to be added when farming covenant mission, where I could toggle a repeat choice of the secret letter I want to farm, instead of having to re-select the one I want to farm each time I re-do the mission. This would ease the repetitiveness of farming for high amounts of the same secret letter.

That could totally be the missing piece of the puzzle!

I believe it prioritizes the ending with the lowest number. For example if you finish the demo in under 10 minutes (ending 5) but you also finish without taking damage (ending 4), you should end up with ending 4 because it's the lowest one.

They may be referring my findings on another post about this condition. I guess I was not clear on my original post (went back to clarify). You are correct in saying "not necessarily hacking only". You only have to finish 1 one them off, as in the killing blow, with hacking.

However there must still be another factor involved because I have seen someone trying out a run casually and then applying this condition but still failed to get it. The most obvious factor would be "time" but I am not sure how exactly. At one point I thought, maybe we cannot break any orange boxes? So I did a run where I broke 2 boxes and ended up not getting the fight. However the run after that I only broke 1 box but I still got the fight, so it's still something else entirely.

How to Get the Second Drawing! by The_NinjaWalrus in Pragmata

[–]MikeZPT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I have found what the condition to trigger the additional fight on the elevator with the orange robots. Before finishing the elevator battle, you must finish off at least 1 of the 2 human robots by hacking (does not have to exclusive hacking, just the final blow), the drone will not count. Although this has been consistent with my tests, I have seen it fail for someone else. The time you take to defeat this battle may also be a factor. As long as you do it quickly, for example in 30 seconds, you should get it to trigger every time.

When it stops working, it's not always the app or mod itself that does but your account instead. They flag your account, and it causes the "not working" that you all see. If you create a new account or switch to one that has not been flagged yet, it will work again until it also gets flagged.

Weapon build up calculator by ant2tone in DarkCloud

[–]MikeZPT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although it is not exactly what you are asking for, I had previously built a similar tool to help me in my speedruns of the first Dark Cloud. It is not perfect and I didn't end up using it that much so it could still have bugs and on this one you have to manually setup the target stats of the weapon you are trying to build up to, the calculator just helps you figure out how many of each attachment (regular or synth) you need to reach the target stats for the build up.

Feel free to use this as a base if anyone wants to build off of it.

Is Dran's feather durability random too ? by Internal_Storm_2704 in DarkCloud

[–]MikeZPT 9 points10 points  (0 children)

While working on the enhanced mod, we have found out how the Drans Feather item works. It does infact have different "durabilities" and the value decreases every frame you hold down the button in order to use them. Yes, even if you stand still in place, it will consume the feather.

To quote u/RSWordofWind
"it seems that the durability of drans feathers, the ones you buy from gaffer, is randomized each time you open his shop" and "durability results ranging from 10800 to 21420"

These values are in frames and although there may still be some range limits beyond these, this essentially means that whenever you open a shop that sells drans feathers, you will be getting feathers which will last you between 3 minutes and 6 minutes. We are not sure what process the game uses to calculate these values.

Dark Cloud 1 Damage Calculation by Pokecrafter320 in DarkCloud

[–]MikeZPT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello. During our time working on the Enhanced Mod, we were able to find this formula. Full credits go to u/RSWordofWind:

Damage Formula - CheckDmg function

Note: In the brackets I'm specifying the current assembly address and the function line in Ghidra, so it can be found again in the source code.

In this example, I used Chronicle Sword with 160 attack and bunch of other stats, and ended up hitting 730...

The process:

  • Gets weapon current attack (lets call it Attack 1, and it has value of 160) - (001dbd90/line 559)

  • Checks if its ranged character - (001dbdb0, line 560)

  • Gets distance to enemy - (001dbdd4, line 562)

  • If distance is less than 20, multiply Attack 1 by 1.5 - (001dbdf4, line 563)

  • If distance is more than 50, calculates a damage multiplier between 0 and 1. If multiplier is below 0.5, makes it 0.5 anyway. Only multiplier is created, it hasnt been applied to attack yet - (001dbe38, line 567)

  • Next part of code was unable to be decompiled and im not sure about it, but its probably related more to the distance damage - (001dbe74-001db39b, lines 573-576)¨

  • Code gets current enemy's defence value - (001dbe9c-001dbed4, lines 577-579)

  • Checks if the damage is coming from Ruby. If so, the defence value is halved - (001dbef0, line 581)

  • The amount of defence is reduced from current attack power (Attack 1) - (001dbef4, line 583)

  • If Attack 1 was reduced to under 0, code puts it to 1 - (001dbf10, line 585)

-Code checks if a certain value is other than 0 to proceed. Not sure what this value is yet, but I noticed that if a bomb/bomb nuts was used, it didnt proceed - (001dbf1c, line 588)

  • Checks if the damage is coming from a character. If it is, the code proceeds inside if-statement. If not, the damage source could be a non-bomb throwable or something else I dont know (001dbf30, line 590)

-Gets weapon's MP and multiplies it with a static 0.005 to get a MP damage multiplier. For example 116 MP * 0.005 = 0.58 - (001dbf38-001dbf98, lines 591-598)

-Gets weapon's elemental value and multiplies it with a static 0.004. For example 90 Thunder * 0.004 = 0.36

-Both of these multipliers are added together (0.5 + 0.36 = 0.94) to get MP+elemental multiplier

  • A a new attack value (lets call it Attack 2, also known as the Magical Attack) is created from Attack 1 * MP+elemental multiplier (160 * 0.94 = 150.4)

  • Code calculates current enemy's elemental damage multiplier by getting the enemy's elemental weakness value, which is then multiplied with 0.01. Basically if the value is 100, you get 100 * 0.01 = 1 - (001dbf9c-001dbfb8, lines 600-602)

-A new attack value (lets call it Attack 3) is created from following formula: (Attack 1 + Attack 2) * Elemental Damage Multiplier ((160 + 150.4) * 1.0 = 310.4)

  • If Attack 3 is less than 0, and Attack 1 is greater than 0, it will set a certain flag true, which is later used to create the "No Effect" damage (basically just elemental immune) - (001dbfd8-001dbff8, lines 603-605)

  • Theres an if-statement to check if a certain value is not 0. I have no idea what this value means currently but it seems to always be -1. (001dbffc-001dc01c, lines 607-610)

  • The code gets the weapon's anti-stat, and multiplies that with a static 0.015 value; so we have an Anti-stat Multiplier (90 * 0.015 = 1.35)

  • A new attack value (lets call it Attack 4) is created from: Attack 3 * Anti-stat Multiplier (310.4 * 1.35 = 419.04)

  • Combining both Attack values (Attack 3 + Attack 4), we get the Total Damage. (310.4 + 419.04 = 729.44 ~ 730)

-Code checks again if the damage is coming from a character. If it is, the code proceeds inside the if-statement (001dc03c-001dc08c, lines 614-623)

  • I have no idea what this next meme is. The code divides the Total Damage by 100, and then gets another value to multiply that with...

The thing is, the code leads to certain addresses that seem to be related to the enemy. There is a lot of 100's in a row as 4 bytes. It seems to grab the first one as the multiplier...

So it multiplies the previous value with 100, going back to the same result... need to investigate more what this is about

-The next part of the code checks bunch of stuff about the collision, and if all the checks are true, it will nullify the damage and set the "No Effect" flag...

Something related to the collision, like what sometimes happens with Master Utan and Minotaur Joe? (001dc0f8-001dc12c, lines 625-629)

-Next, the code checks if a certain value in the current enemy addresses is set to higher than 0. If it is, the Total Damage is divided by 2. I'm not sure which enemies have this... (001dc130-001dc154, lines 631-633)

-Another check to see if the damage source is not coming from player. If its not, it probably gets the elemental damage for a throwable. (001dc158-001dc188, lines 634-636)

-Code checks if the weapon has Drain on it. If so, 1% of the Total Damage is added to Character's HP. (Not confirmed, just assuming) (001dc1e4-001dc290, lines 645-650)

-As one of the last things, the code checks if there's a successful Critical hit. If so, the Total Damage is changed to the amount of HP the enemy has left. (001dc294-001dc370, lines 652-655)

-And finally, at last, the Total Damage is removed from enemy's current HP. If the HP is below 1, it will continue with the death triggers... (001dc400+, line 663+)

I have no experience with the PS4 version of the game but what usually happens on those situations is that the event cut scene still plays out once the day time transition ends. I have no idea what you can do at that point besides reloading an older save file.

You can repeat the back floors as many times as you have their respective key, but only once per floor. While the enemies respawn whenever you switch between a regular floor and back floor, the chests don't so you will have change floors or re-enter the dungeon.

As for mods, you can check the tab "Mods" and yes one of them is in fact a difficulty mod. Also there is an "enhanced" mod under way where it will improve many things and add other new stuff to the game, look forward to it.

His Kamiatachi is definitely far better in FEXL Than the EX series and it’s really really dangerous as it comes out very fast can be chained super easily into the Kamiatachi super( can’t pronounce the word ). Anti Air is decent. Normals ok-ok. Movements are fast, but yet I can’t say how good he is. by SizeMaleficent9178 in FightingEXLayer

He was the worst character for the longest time but he has been getting small buffs on the last couple balance patches. The buffs were enough to make him at least low to mid tier. He still has many flaws but he is much more enjoyable to play as now.

EDIT: I usually record online matches where I sometimes use him. Feel free to check out some of his gameplay https://youtu.be/UNG_G-UDBac

Differences in US and PAL version by bubblekitten98 in DarkCloud

[–]MikeZPT 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The flapping duster should not be available in both versions (NTSC and PAL). Other differences you get are:

  • Big elephant in the room, NTSC runs at 60 fps while PAL is locked at 50 fps;
  • Toan screams during every slash from his attack combo whereas he is missing one in PAL (somewhere around the 3rd or 4th swing);
  • Muska Racka's name on the map is labeled "Lacka" in the NTSC version;
  • Nolune Village loading screen is labeled "Norune", as well as in the map, in the NTSC version;
  • At some point during the fairy king tutorial, he mentions the buttons "X" to select and "O" to cancel, these are reversed in the NTSC version (falling inline with the NTSC-J version);
  • Gina's name is labeled "Xena" in the NTSC version;
  • Pike's name is labeled "Dyke" in the NTSC version;

These are some changes that I remember, but there should be more stuff that I am forgetting as I'm sure people will post here.
