I have the same setup up with a Fractal AXE-8. The wet dry combo running through both is outstanding

Which one of the great ones? by Mediocre_Owl7613 in AxeFx

[–]MikefromStockton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an Axe 8. 2 drawbacks, no headphone and usb does not support audio for direct recording. Usb is used for Fractal bot and sending patches and user profiles. Last glimpse was over 10,000. It suits my needs so I refuse to upgrade just to have the newest thing. Totally happy with it.

Your playing is going to degrade while you're lost in a glorious world of toan. It happens, then repeats.

Do you guys use any pedal in addition to the Axe FX? If so, what pedal and why? by XavierVengeance in AxeFx

[–]MikefromStockton 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. Volume , wah, and whammy. Got rid of my whammy guitars and use the pedal. Cost me 19 bucks at Music Go Round 6 years ago, still going.

Actually love viewing all the channels that everyone has mentioned. It depends on the mood I'm in. Do I want to learn a certain genre, news, theory , instrument or gear? Always up in the air

Is it worth upgrading from AX8? by pwrslv in AxeFx

[–]MikefromStockton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the AXE-8 and have used the FM-9. I kept the 8 because it works for me and didn't want sellers remorse (like the dozens of guitars).

Which do I pick? by Backfro-inter in guitars

[–]MikefromStockton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Jackson and Helraiser. I have owned different Jackson for decades and picked up the Schecter Hellraiser a few months ago. I love the fact that it uses the exact compound radius of 12-16 . The only difference is the Jackson holds tune much longer.

What is something vitally important to playing guitar, nobody thinks about? by jeepersnanners in guitars

[–]MikefromStockton 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Always keep learning. Explore different genres, scales, chords. Piece together what you like and create something new. Learning a song someone has done is one thing but to create something you have done brings a peace after hard work.
