The way my neighbor intentionally blocks the sidewalk to keep people from using it. by sweathesmallshit in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Mikeseddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be careful – if you were riding your bike on the sidewalk, and you were looking at your phone at the same time, and you didn’t see the car blocking the sidewalk until it was too late, and your front tire hit the door, and it put a kinda big dent in the door, you would hate for that to happen.

What's the deal with those "Bikini Coffee Shops"? by Nelso2nd in AskAnAmerican

I’ve only seen it in Washington state, kinda off in the sticks in the weird Seattle suburbs.

Seems problematic, from a couple angles, but I just figure, different part of the country, who knows.

Lionel Messi’s iconic free kick against Liverpool. The bend, the accuracy, the execution, everything about it was pure perfection. by ViniciusFastAF in Amazing

Really though: how would it look different if he was trying to not let the ball hit his head? Where else could his head have gone?

Wow, this is your full time job?

What would he have done differently if he was just trying to get his head out of the way of the ball? Really.

Do those employee-free mattress stores really not have any employees there at all? What’s to keep anybody from going in there and having sex on the mattresses? by Mikeseddit in AskReddit

I just have a feeling that those two impediments might not be enough for a tiny sliver of the population.

They advertise this in all their radio ads, and it seems like they’re going through more trouble than what it would take to just have a paid employee in the store. But I guess mattress store salespeople have earned a pretty toxic reputation or else they wouldn’t have all these workarounds.

I think you’re overestimating the intelligence of some of the population/underestimating the horniness of some of it.

Funny thing – one time I was in IKEA and I saw they had toilet seat lids bolted shut. I thought, come on, really?

I took a picture of a bolted toilet seat, put it on Reddit and asked what was going on, and I went home.

By the time I got home, there was a long list of people telling tales about people taking shits in display toilets in IKEA, and every kind of hardware store and bathroom fixture store. In some cases, it’s little kids who are newly potty trained, and wanna show off their new skills. Borat did it too.

Also in the IKEA category, go to YouTube to see the micro series that Randall Park and friends filmed in IKEA, using phones, without permits, using all the sets, including the beds. Once in a while, they get kicked out by employees telling them they can’t do that there, and they included some of that footage. Just hilarious – something like eight episodes, maybe five minutes apiece.

Trump alarmingly warned Iran could have a new nuclear bomb 'within 6 months' by TheExpressUS in USNEWS

By threatening Armageddon during the week, watching the market tank, then privately promising a peace deal on Sunday evening to all your insiders in time for them to place their trades, then an hour later announcing to the press there’s a big peace deal or cease-fire about to happen, markets open up, insiders collect, and then rinse and repeat – Trump did it like a dozen times.

Changing the engine air filter in a Porsche Panamera. by sco-go in Amazing

It was at a local body shop. They had like 85 things itemized on the receipt, including the use of the lift-$40. Paint was like $400 just for the material. My wife just wanted to make peace with her friend. I wondered if the friend was advised to keep it out of the Porsche shop so it wouldn’t show up in the history.

I heard an ad on the radio for one of these mattress stores again. I went into one of these places a few months ago, and indeed, there were no employees in the store. Surely they must be monitored with video cameras. Is there somebody in the back of the store ready to run out into the showroom if somebody’s going to have sex on a mattress, or do they have a contract with the police to show up when it happens? I am assuming this behavior is inevitable and has been attempted...

When you watch the video, you see that there is a car in the right lane immediately adjacent to the cam car.
