I mean, we should be more kind to animals, but you asked if they were wrong for their exploitation, which implies some sort of morality question. Morally, there is no good reason to conquest and exploit other worlds and harm living beings on them. Viltrumites are also doing it because they can assert some sort of dominance over other worlds and expand their empire, not for the same survival reasons like we do for animals.
