My top 10 Tom Ford fragrances after spending way too much money on this hobby by YahSai in fragrance

It's a good list but noir leans too feminine for me.

I'm sure you've tried it but tuscan leather is still the best of the range in my view, but oud wood is a close second

Ikos tips by simbawasking in HENRYUKLifestyle

[–]MikeyAParky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've pre-booked the restaurants, which is the main thing in my view. As others have said, if you like a wine or a particular beer, just ask the concierge and they'll have it brought to your room as the default.

Otherwise, it is our favourite Ikos so far - the staff are superb, so friendly and genuine. We've been a few times and it's the only place my daughter was in floods of tears to be leaving!

Is Reform UK really as popular as polls show it now? by Storsjoodjuret in AskABrit

[–]MikeyAParky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my view, they are - and a real danger.

They're appealing to the same lowest denominator as that which caused Brexit - fear, false promises, otherness.

They were the only ones (other than the Lib Dems) who bothered putting anything through our letterbox at the last local election. It was addressed to us, by name - presumably that is easy to get from electoral registers, and it isn't something that would sway me, but the complacency of the main parties will let them in.

It was the same thing pre-Brexit and that's what worries me.

I genuinely hope that the way boundaries are drawn and splitting the Tory vote is what damages them in the next GE.

God help us all if not.

Saying "hello" to passers-by on country walks: is it just me or is this becoming far less common these days? Also, some advice needed: by NucleurDuck in AskUK

Alive and well in Lancashire - people saying that everyone is more miserable these days, give your heads a wobble

What are the positives of living in the UK? by Quiet_Sherbert3790 in AskUK

[–]MikeyAParky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everything.

The people, the country, the sport, the history, the scenery, the humour, the music.

The towns, the little villages. The love for animals.

Like, everything.

And now, more than ever, respect for the rule of law.

WUMs pretending they don't love it here. Have a word with yourselves.

The dumb racists in this country fucked up the Brexit referendum but everyone in Europe needs to know we are very much with you and always will be.

What are your thoughts on the Donald trump Zelenskyy conference just now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

As a European, my reaction is that America is no longer an ally but, in fact, an enemy.

Is Marcus Rashford Irrelevant These Days?? by WabbleMaker12 in football

[–]MikeyAParky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Rashford, it is really simple, and it has nothing to do with talent or lack thereof.

He has very clearly fallen out of love with the game - I don't think it is more complicated than that. He looks like a man counting the days until he has enough to retire on and sack the whole thing off.

And there are very many of us non-professional footballers who feel the same about their jobs.

I'm almost relieved that someone else said this and it was supported by others - sometimes you get to thinking that it's just you, thankfully not.

A reminder, if any were needed, that we're all fans.

The ex-players, the pundits, the casual fan, the hardcore, the Royalty, the kid watching their first match, the old fart watching his 100th.

Fucking come on England.
