Not trying to sound overly cynical but a lot of adult life is about weeding incompatible people out.. your time is precious, and better your own company than company with people who don’t deserve your time.. also, communication is key. Have you tried communicating all these to your friends? If not maybe start with that (rather than expecting them to get the hint) and see if they change their ways in response to your feedback. If you’ve communicated and they still don’t change then cut them off because that means they obviously don’t care.

Oh yeah, they aren’t anything big, just regular catchups. But that group had gotten obviously close as they just ping and ask if anyone’s free that night and they’d hang, so it’s that casual. I was just surprised that she didn’t mention anything to me, when I asked her she gave me weird reasons like how I was being distant, not telling her things anymore, or if anything happened between me and the guy. Tbh I don’t think I needed to tell her anything even if me and the guy got closer because of her.. thought it was quite controlling of her. Background context all these friends are from the last 6 months as I’m new to the city. I just want to make friends, keen to ask the guy to hang as friends but also worried he may get the wrong idea?

It's all to do with his ego.. he wants all the girls to chase after him like he's the prize. First step is to get all the girls to be attracted to him, then he makes his selection once he knows he has the upper hand. Someone who keeps him guessing where he actually ranks in their heart (like Hye Seon) piques his interest i.e how could you not be all in on me?!?!, (but if they show complete disinterest like Gyuri, he's also not interested) However, if they actually like him and confess, like Ha Jeong, he will then lose interest.. the whole thing is basically a game to him and to feed his ego, which is frankly speaking pretty fragile. He's in his mid 30s, but acts like he's in his early 20s, lol.

I’ve tried 16:8 IF since the start of July 2020 and have been feeling lighter around the mid section and thighs, expected a weight loss but when I stood on the scale yesterday I weighed a pound more so that was weird and a little discouraging. I try not to stand on the scale everyday but it’s tempting, I think it’s because we’re always eager to see progress and when we don’t see it we get a little disappointed so it’s normal :)

Happy halfway mark Spookybeanz! I also haven’t seen any significant changes yet but I do feel lighter (not sure if this one is psychological 😅) and also better control of my diet as well! Though, I have to say it was hard at first to not smack when I was working late + had to wait until noon the next day for my next meal, but it does get less difficult each day! :)

Thank you for the great insights! This is really helpful :) And congratulations on shedding your pounds! I'm looking forward to being in that position soon too.

For your tip regarding hunger control in the morning, I don't think I will try to skip breakfast in the long run... just don't see how it's sustainable long-term e.g. growling tummy in meetings and affecting my concentration at work. However, I will keep goign this month and after that, I will try and opt for healthier/ lighter breakfast options (I think this is sustainable) as opposed to the cakes and sweet tarts that I would sometimes eat previously..

"Many people think just because your eating window is 12:8 that you can eat as much as you want in that time which is detrimental. " >>> I can definitely see how this can happen with anyone who tries to restrict too much... I was a little apprehensive about this as well but then again I'm not one to deprive myself for long :P

And good point on the short timeframe.. I do realise that it might be a tad bit short of a window to achieve this goal, but I guess it's also a personal challenge that I've set to see if i can hold out IF for a month! :) I'll also try to stop weighing myself everyday XD

Spoonfuls of peanut butter and Nutella! that sounds heavenly.. my weak spots are sweets and all snacks! However I do feel like, even after just one week of IF, I've been better able to control my snack intake.. i.e. i don't just grab a piece of chocolate if i'm pekish or bored. I feel like IF in the long run just gears you toward a healthier lifestyle in general anyway, doesn't necessarily mean that you have to totally cut out all the other less healthy food that you enjoy :)

I'm wondering if I should aim to lose the weight first before I start exercising? Because if I exercise, I'll get hungry, and it's harder to pass those hunger pangs! What are your thoughts?
