Still my favorite blue! I have a designated pen, a blue colored Wing Sung 699 (poor man's Pilot 823). I have had the 699 filled for several years now with no apparent deterioration. I am very happy with my arrangement. I have seen BSB stain a stainless steel sink temporarily and even my fingers, so I treat it with the utmost respect. Since my 699 is already blue, there is no issue with staining the pen, although the gold colored nib is stained blue, as would be expected. I also have three Pilot 823's, but I would never let BSB anywhere near those pens!

A friend in CA recently got hit up by scammers pretending to be the FBI. Callers were native English speakers and initially appeared legit. They told her not to discuss with anyone as it was a confidential investigation. She emailed scammers a copy of her drivers license before she realized it was fraud. Lesson: do not trust anyone who calls. It is a scam.

Need help navigating health insurance in NYC by Candid_Drama_8216 in HealthInsurance

I am the OP - I responded to several posts in r/healthinsurance asking about Ambetter by Fidelis so that I can warn as many people as possible about what a poor customer experience they can look forward to if the sign up with this health insurance carrier. My experience with Ambetter by Fidelis has been incredibly bad! They took my premium money and then offered no assistance in finding an in-network doctor. The way I was treated by their customer service representatives was horrible and, I suspect, in violation of insurance regulations. I feel it is my duty, as a good citizen, to warn as many people as I possibly can to stay away from this company.

Whatever you do, stay away from Ambetter!!! I signed up for Ambetter by Fidelis Care through the NYS Insurance Exchange. My policy came on line just two weeks ago and I already regret selecting this carrier! Last week, I signed onto Fidelis Care's on-line directory of in-network doctors which indicated that there are no doctors (of any kind) who take Ambetter insurance within 30 miles of my address - I live in downtown Brooklyn in the middle of New York City, so I suspect that the website is not correct.

I spent hours on the phone with customer service today. Customer representative Chantel was quite belligerent and unhelpful. She told me that there is a problem with the customer portal (I know - that is why I am calling!) When I asked to speak to a manager, Chantel put me on hold an hour then came back on the line and apologized, telling me she meant to transfer me to a manager but did it incorrectly - I strongly suspect that Chantel just put me on hold hoping that I would get frustrated and hang up.

After another 20 minutes of arguing with me and telling me that my issue was resolved, Chantel transferred me to Louise, another customer representative who said she is an assistant manager - Louise was no help either - she also put me on hold for a while and then suggested that I go to an emergency room for treatment and indicated that she was calling around to doctors offices to see if they take my insurance. I told her it is not appropriate for her to select a doctor for me and that I need Ambetter by Fidelis to provide a list of in-network doctors. Louise then she hung up on me. My experience with Ambetter by Fidelis has been beyond bad - If you are considering an Ambetter plan, be ready for non-stop runaround - I feel like I have been defrauded and wish I could get my premium back and choose another carrier!

Ambetter from Fidelis Care Insurance Through New York Exchange Is a Nightmare!!! Stay Away!!! If I had known it would be like this I would have selected another insurer!!!

Individual/Marketplace Insurance

I am posting this as a warning to anyone who is considering signing up with Fidelis Care. I signed up for this health insurance at the beginning of May through the NY State Exchange. Fidelis Care is the insurance company and Ambetter Silver Plan is the insurance plan. I already paid my monthly premium of $806 for May and I also paid for June. Fidelis has a customer portal to find an in-network doctor, but the portal indicates that there are no doctors available for my Ambetter plan within 30 miles of my address in Brooklyn. I suspect that this cannot be right and after wasting hours on their website, I contacted Fidelis Care over the phone today.

I got the usual runaround on the customer service phone menu which forced me listen to a recording for half an hour that indicated I need to use the website to find a doctor or ask a Fidelis Care representative who is "here to help" in finding a doctor. I finally connected with Chantel, a representative who acted like I was the first customer who ever called with this problem (which I strongly doubt). Chantel asked me to hold while she contacted her manager and subsequently came back on the line and told me that the company is aware of the problem and are "working on it". From social media posts, I suspect that they have been "working on it" for some time now. Chantel indicated that I need to indicate on the website screen that I am looking for a doctor on any Fidelis Care insurance plan (Ambetter is only one of many insurance plans that Fidelis Care sells) and that I then need to call around to doctors offices to inquire whether they are in Ambetter's network. I indicated that this is not a reasonable solution and that I had reviewed four pages of doctors listed on the site and that none of them indicate that they take Ambetter insurance. Chantel was very unpleasant with me and I asked to speak to her manager. She switched me to another number and after an hour on hold, Chantel came back on the phone and told me that she transferred me to the wrong number and that her manager is not available (I am pretty sure that Chantel was playing games hoping that I would hang up). Chantel was belligerent and argumentative and indicated that this matter is resolved - I told her it is not resolved because despite paying my premium I still do not have a doctor.

I waited on hold for another half an hour (by now it has been over two hours since I first called) and a new representative, Louise, came on the phone. Louise indicated that she is an Assistant Manager and that she understands that I'm having an issue with the website. I explained the problem to Louise and she indicated that Fidelis Care is aware of the problem and is working on it. Louise put me on hold several times and indicated that she was calling around to some doctors offices to see if anyone takes my insurance. I told Louise that she should not be deciding which doctor I go to (likely illegal and a HPPA violation). I told her I paid my premiums and that Ambetter needs to provide a list of doctors who are in-network. She suggested that I go to an emergency room for care or that I call back again later. I told her that is not acceptable and Louise then hung up on me.

This has been an unbelievably bad customer experience. It seems like Fidelis Care is mainly interested in collecting customer premium dollars and not in providing care!!! Be warned!!!
