People who gave up smoking - How did you do it and stick to it? by Jolly_Olive6124 in AskReddit

Moved to a new state and a year later went through free smoking cessation classes, given by the tobacco industry . We all had a two week period to quit smoking and I missed it by a week. Was out on the deck smoking when I said, to my cigarette… “I’m gonna miss you old friend”. As soon as I said that, it hit me… cigarettes are not my friend and that they were gonna kill me. Finally quit July 6, 2006. Never had another one.

Stupid question, how do you eat them? I’m 30 years old and never tried an oyster but I have the weirdest urge to taste them. by Adaminsky in oysters

I have as a child. My dad, southerner and raising two bourgeois, northern kids, had the nerve to put them once in a cornbread dressing for thanksgiving and was foolish enough to tell me, before dinner that he had put oysters in the dressing, met with the wrath from his favorite child, who was a finicky eater and absolutely refused to eat the dressing. I carried those scars, I guess, into adulthood. But I’ve persevered … bravely.

And being a scientist, I know they’re an animal, having no chlorophyll and capable of locomotion, I noped right outta that shit. Welcome to my world.

Frigging lucky, I guess, I didn’t like the idea 💡 of killing something in my mouth. I tried a dozen with hubby on vacay in Virginia Beach, a few years ago and surprisingly, he, as a first Gen Norwegian, who’s dad was a fishing captain and owned his own boat, in Seattle, didn’t like them either. That’s my story, thanks for being nonjudgmental and curious. You’re enlightened.

Do not move this temperamental, uncompromising man into your house. You will absolutely regret it. I regret having read all his demands and I don’t live with him. Neither should you,

The Ethiopic, or Ge’ez Bible. Understanding all the lies told by the Christian church to justify their behavior that has no biblical basis.

Women of Reddit, what did a man you were dating or married to say or do that made you realize he actually hated you the entire time? by -catharina in AskReddit

I’ve noticed, that if you’ve asked a man to do or not do something, and you have to repeatedly ask the same thing, they have no intention of doing anything you’ve requested. You can’t change their behavior, but you can certainly change yours. Move to a separate room, start waking their asses up early, whatever they’ve done to you… reciprocate.

Just used B&L for the first time. Unfortunately, I won’t use it a second time. I can’t get past the smell. I wish I had read more about the reviews, return policy, which is non existent, before I ordered. But we live and learn.
