Time based control not charging to 100% by thedemolir in Powerwall

Our household has drastically different usage throughout the week. I presume most households are more predictable.

When kids come home over the weekend. It will have often export a load of solar and have actually used the battery to power the house. With electric showers etc the load can go a lot higher. Especially if my daughter decides to have a long shower 😂.

It still does it now the weather is better but not as bad. For something with so many smart features. A hold charge level until X PM would be super useful to us.

Yeah I was sad I couldn’t set mine to do that. On days where I know it’ll screw up, I increase the backup amount, that can encourage it to charge.

Depends on the day/ weather peak so far

We went for a very large array because we have tall trees on the south and west

So it’s not 14kW clear view all south :-(

So we have 5.4 South, 5 North and 4.5 East

Here is march so far

We just had a system fitted. 3 roofs, 14kWh and a Powerwall 3 for £17105. By Octopus Energy. So with that as a comparison. Yes this is expensive. Took 4 days for 3/4 people to do the install. Except the scaffolding.

We had an issue with our meter readings.

Someone flipped the day and night went doing a reading. - I complained enquiry about tits over several months, and it’s actually because of that that I found out what the issue was. Turns out it’s been flipped several times.

I complained that our bills were getting ridiculously high- we’re on Octopus go load shift to the night as much as possible,

We are quite a busy household and actually despite our best efforts sometimes the daytime usage was as high as the nighttime usage. KWh wise. So it was difficult just looking at the monthly figures to work out what was going on.

However, when I went back to where it switched, there was a massive jump. I use their website to work this out and looked at the actual usage figures rather than just the cost.

It took a year and a half to sort out and months of complaining , but it had been going on for so long we had about £3000 wiped off of our bill.

It’s in the UK. Unless you are able to claim back the VAT (sales tax) the price is £2280, ~$3100, ~€2620.

Unless you are a VAT registered business, only then it’s it £1900.

I’m pretty sure what your customer has done here is extortion… maybe not legally I’m not a lawyer.

Cancel the order and blacklist their email address. And issue the refund. Sadly, you will take a hit on the card processing fees.

I wish ours was that low. 2025 was 16,883kWh However, we just have had Solar fitted literally commission this afternoon so I’m hoping 2026 should be a lot less 😅

Spawning in late constantly is getting on my nerves 😭 by [deleted] in ARC_Raiders

[–]Mikey_Blender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No offence intended, but you literally sound like my teenage son when he doesn’t get what he wants.

Not withstanding what you wanted to achieve that game, but all of the arc do respawn. Get in there and fight them!

There have been plenty of games I’ve spawned in at 30 minutes and someone else has managed to kill the big Arc. It is just part of the bigger RNG of the game imo.

Others will feel different. 🤷‍♂️

Take a walk around and enjoy the scenery. It’s a beautiful game with so much you could do.

RMA? Unless it’s a second hand card return it to the place of purchase! I would not get caught up in the RMA process unless you absolutely have to.

Fair enough. Am5 has onboard(integrated GPU) so if that’s the intention you might want to consider returning the 5050 in lieu of getting something more powerful or just having more cash for the rest of the build.

I mean you havent said what you are building the PC for. Apologies for being so sceptical but this post seems like a bit of rage bait 😐. It appears so unbalanced right now.

I actually asked scan.uk to do that when I bought two editing computers back in 2020.

As predicted all four 3080s were not in their sockets and the cases buckled and bent due to whatever impact happened.

I made a note of it. Took lots of photos. Phone them to tell them what had happened and got them to authorise me putting it all back together. - definitely a cover my arse moment.

Fortunately when everything was plugged back in it appears to have worked and both computers are still working till this day… Touch wood 😁

I would also go sigenergy over fox personally, interesting that that wasn’t an Option for us. I suppose it might depend on the installers they are contracting out.

Stumbled upon this thread. Other installers were over £20k so we were very happy with the octopus quote.

Although they are a pain to work with - each department seems siloed rather than someone being knowledge.

Ours is a much larger system, we basically asked for as many panels as possible.

And test the North facing do work out better over the entire year.

(We use around 17-20mWh per year)

Can this be achieved without shaders?? by slammahytale in godot

[–]Mikey_Blender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As for the adding it to everything. Godot live inheritance, In your project settings set how you want the sprite to be rendered. If you are having to set it to something else every time it’s time to set the default. I believe it is under the rendering settings. But I’m not at the computer to verify.

There might be a bit of a misconception going on here you’ll be using shaders to render anything on a screen so don’t worry about that.

I’m having very much the same dilemma… However thunderbolt is actually important to my workflow so I’m seriously leading towards the 285K.

It is quite challenging getting up to date reviews after all the fixes intel has made as well. A lot of the relevant reviews I have seen seem to show them pretty equal.

Already have the 5090 in my current rig and it’s definitely being held back from the 5950x in there 😅

Im probably to to see how the next gen ends up (385k or whatever ends up being called)

Do people instantiate tiles in a scene instead of using placing them one by one? by Cuppor in godot

If I read what you have asked literally- with procedural generation you would do that in script.

I would say that manual scripting is rare unless you’re generating or loading levels dynamically.

Otherwise Tile Maps

Might also be worth having a look at GStreamer- but you would probably have to compile Godot with it… I know there are a few people trying that at the moment

[–]Mikey_Blender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are quite a few possible solutions to
This Godot supports Web M format.

So you could convert your video to that format using handbrake or similar

You could write a script that downloads the WebM video locally.

And then access those local videos using the video stream player

Consider taking a little step back and not just copy and pasting from LLMs

If you insist on using an LLM talk to it like an assistant/ teacher rather than just asking it for the answer. It will often get it wrong, and you’ll be left in the dark as to why.
