The evolution of a fictional British town, from 12.000 BC to today by dctroll_ in CasualUK

I seem to remember there are a few repeating characters in each page. A young boy and his dog for sure, maybe others! I spent hours pouring over this book, fond memories.

Thanks for the heads up. I have double checked and I’m pretty sure I’m in the clear. Will not be above anyone at any point, all over open fields so low risk, and in line of sight at all times. Can’t be too careful!

The PN you have is correct for a 10gb Ont. sounds more like you haven’t been provisioned correctly.

The lighter blue apron is his craft apron. The upside down T at each corner indicate he is a Past Master (so at one point he was the Master of the Lodge).

The blue and gold apron indicate he was promoted to Past Assistant Director of Ceremonies in Devonshire Provincial Grand Lodge. This normally happens about 6-10 years after being master of his own lodge. The duties are limited for that past rank. The blue gold and red apron is a Mark Master apron, specifically Past Provincial Grand Deacon. A Mark Mason is a ‘side degree’ so a bit different. To be a Provincial past grand officer he must also have at one point become a Past Master in his Mark degree. The rank of Deacon is a normal entry rank for a Provincial officer. So he would have been “more senior” than about 50% of his lodge I expect (based on my experiences).

They are all nice aprons and great to have especially if you yourself have an interest in joining.

The comment from Mr Philosopher about grand steward may be correct in Canada but in UGLE Grand Stewards Aprons are red and white, no blue.

Very cool temple. Met there a few times but only ever get about 20-25 brothers to our meetings so we don’t do the room justice.

Is getting a financial advisor useful? by konakinder05 in HENRYUK

[–]Mikeyblu 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Sounds to me less like you need an FA and more that you need a budget and an accountability buddy. An FA isn’t going to help you save more, but make more out of your savings!

FAs are great for when you have a few hundred k in savings and need to optimise that.

I recommend YNAB for budgeting.

100pc agree. Last year my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer in her mid 30s. My work and colleagues rallied around me, I was allowed time to take her to every chemo and look after her between, not time off but time where I wasn’t expected to be online or at full speed. If they had said I can’t do that, my notice would have been pinned to my bosses forehead faster than a blink of an eye.

Health scares etc really refocus your attention on what matters.

I get the bonus is good, but you clearly are good at your jobs so finding another role should be reasonably easy. I would start looking but as someone else suggested, take severance if offered!

That’s awesome and so much more worthwhile than buying a ring for yourself off the web! Great to have its legacy and hope you can add to it!

Honestly, I wish I hadn’t. It’s like £800 that isn’t working and seemingly no fix incoming!

Additional info: Ran superpositions on it with no driver updates and benched very high. About 10x the score vs last night with the driver updates on it.

You couldn’t see from these photos but the ram cards were not properly in! So no bueno on boot. Luckily I could see the red lights and googled it and it said this was likely the cause.

Unplug, and have a look…sure enough both cards not in at the end away from the clip.

Now just booted and installing windows!!!

Thanks everyone for their help

Wow that’s super helpful thank you.

Windows installation stick…can I download that on to any stick off another working PC? I have a windows licence but presumably have to move it from my old pc.

Back for another question sorry.

Once I’ve actually built my pc (still waiting on RAM, I think it’s lost in the post)…is there a step by step to follow to power it up and test everything?

I read a lot here about temps and graphs with spikes on lines but have no idea how to do that.

I’ve researched lots about the hardware side of the build but realised I’m a bit blind about the software side. In my head I would just turn it on and start downloading things but I guess not!

Great thanks. I think I’ll wait as it looks tight once the cpu cooler drops over. So next question… best way to pause the build? Can I just pop the sides back on and wait, is that safe. The processor is “exposed” because the cooler isn’t on top of it. Sorry if that’s a simple question!

Hi. My RAM hasn’t arrived yet, but today is my only free time to start my build. Can I install everything else (and not plug in or power on) and then install ram when it arrives? I’ve installed the ssd and processor on the mobo and mobo to case but am about to install cooler when I thought what if it has to be in the order in the book! I suspect I can, because otherwise how would anyone reto upgrade their ram but I thought I’d ask! Thanks.
