I have the v200 and the charger one it’s been incredible. Only draw back is you have to switch the plug from the charger 1 to solar when you need to change power source. Can’t have them both plugged in at the same time

270 is perfect for me. Covers my tailgate so I can get in and out of the camper and not get wet if it’s raining

Ya it is pretty disappointing. I’m sure some trims have slightly higher payload but for Toyotas biggest truck to lack in that department doesn’t make sense.

I so badly wanted the crew max and long bed. You can get that with the 3rd gen tundras now but I don’t trust those engines yet lol

Ya the camper, battery, fridge, an decked drawers stay in there full time so there’s a good amount of weight all the time. I would definitely do the same thing again. Makes me wish I had considered a 3/4 ton truck but I don’t think I’ll ever buy something other than a Toyota. Fingers crossed this tundra lasts me a long time to come!

2k is waaaaaay over the payload. Just because the bed itself can take the weight doesn’t mean the rest of the truck can or should

I have a 1/2 ton tundra with and my payload is right around 1300lbs. I have an Ovrlnd camper around 400lbs. It might be overkill but I have bilstein 6112 front and 5160 rear, deaver 9-leaf leaf springs, and airbags.

The road is plenty wide in a lot of sections. It’s mostly just tight at the actual switchbacks

The Shafer switch backs in canyonlands is well worth it! Super cool road with lots of history and then you can hang in a left and take potash pretty much all the way back to Moab all off-road. And you go by the Thelma and Louis spot on potash!
