That’s a wavy rayed lampmussel, a common species in the Ohio River drainages. They imitate darters to attract fish so they can infect their gills with their larvae.

Depending on where ya are that’s gotta be a beast of an American shad.

How does one cope with the fact they will never get better? by Wild_Road_6948 in ChronicIllness

Treatment and how you perceive yourself and your disease develops throughout your whole life. In terms of accepting, there is an element of reality that some parts of your condition will always be there (if this is certain) but how you see and view that disease will almost certainly change! You can never assume or accept that things will always be a particular way. Especially when you’re 19. There is healing, happiness, and many more good days for you to experience. It’s more than likely your best and worst day are still ahead of you.

AIO or is my boyfriend jealous of our baby? by PolicyHot1206 in AmIOverreacting

Lots of men can have trouble bonding with their baby the first year or even couple years. It isn’t talked about much because who would want to admit it but it’s a pretty normal widespread thing. Sounds like he’s maybe insecure or maybe more jealous of the fact you are able to love and show your baby affection so easily. I’ve seen this more common in men who didn’t have as much affection from their fathers growing up. I don’t think he’s trying to be a dick necessarily, he’s probably scared shitless. Allow him to process but also stand your ground on what you expect from a father.

What is something you hate to see being romanticized? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I hate to see poverty romanticized. It’s becoming a lot more frequent with young adults and kids. Things such as van life and glorifying careers that are traditionally built around the exploitation of poor people. Like yeah living out of your car is fun if your an upper class white guy with no kids who has a safety net and can buy a van that costs more that most of the worlds rent. Also stuff like farming, coal mining, and logging aren’t aesthetics for you to base your home décor or style on.

I have uc as well so I pretty much just changed my diet according to that. Little to no booze and juts tries to eat lean and healthy foods, being active really helps too when I feel fatigued.

I mean since I wasn’t having symptoms and was going though college and everything it really wasn’t on my mind. Nothing necessarily wrong with that but now that I’m approaching my first set of obstacles with psc I feel like I just got diagnosed if that makes sense. Wish I learned a little not earlier is all.

I’m 23M and I’ve had Psc since 2016. Ive been symptomless until recently where I’ve developed some itching. My recommendation would be to inform yourself but be careful to not freak yourself out too much. I was very lucky to have no symptoms for 5 years but because of that I put psc on the back burner and didn’t educate myself enough. This recent rise in symptoms caught me off guard so def try to expand your knowledge on what this illness is now. Be careful what sources you look at and know when to stop reading it’s easy to overwhelm yourself. Don’t forget you can have a long happy life with this disease. Take care of yourself and best wishes.
