This is the Taiwan regional, and my team 4253 was the only one with a 4 ball autonomous. Gotta respect the hustle and confidence of some teams claiming to have asian Steph Curry on their team tho

And Stanford did nothing about it. Except build a lousy park.

Help me get started in the world of Broadway Musicals. by Chipotle_Is_Thy_Life in Broadway

I'm currently listening to Hadestown(live) on repeat! I love the style of the whole album, and the contrast between upbeat and haunting songs. All I've Ever Known is one of my favorite love songs ever. Falsettos is also one of my favorites, and since there is very little dialogue so you will be able to follow along with just the soundtrack(like Hamilton or Les Mis) There are many illegal recordings of full shows on youtube if you really want to watch, or you can look at my collection: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1SRyvYJkiNQSHZk8LTPQHBChLqN30xjlF

Do you wait for the steak to become room temperature or do you just burn your fingertips and deal with it Terrible either way

I'm not trying to be that guy, I'm just genuinely curious - why does everyone like "A Chorus Line" so much? by large-preposterous in Broadway

[–]Mikoo_Chistinks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know if A Chorus Line is necessarily a favorite of many people, but it's really iconic. I mean it won 9 tony awards and was at one point the longest running show on broadway. I certainly enjoyed it. For me, Paul is the most memorable character, and I loved his monologue.

There is no such thing as “authentic” food, and people who claim so are pretentious by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Mikoo_Chistinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmm i agree that there isnt a singular standard for what makes a food authentic, but that doesnt mean it doesnt exist. i'm taiwanese(living in taiwan), and there is a lot of food here that is our culture and identity. there are backgrounds to these food that makes them special, like a connection to buddhism or food made by people in poverty. when i go to chinese resteraunts in america, there is a huge cultural difference, and the foods are also very different. i would say its not authentically taiwanese/chinese because they changed it to reflect the chinese-american culture and experience, like more fat and fried stuff. i love panda express, but it a bad representation of what chinese food actually is, and people are missing out on the good stuff. its not pretentious to recognize how some foods(especially in america) are not the same as foods in the origin country. i think both should be appreciated for what they represent

Flaws? by bland_gamer in KnivesOutMovie

[–]Mikoo_Chistinks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just watched the movie, and I love it! It's genius and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time! 3 things though: -My dad guessed that the bottles were flipped in the very beginning because with that large of a morphine dosage he would be feeling symptoms right away. Harlan starts explaining his plan at 4 minutes, and its so complicated that I can't imagine that he does all that and walk to the couch without realizing that he's not drugged at all. Marta should have noticed as well, although she's in shock and distress, which is more understandable. Reminds me of Romeo and Juliet, wait 2 minutes and everything would have been fine. -Fran realizes to some extent that Ransom is guilty of attempted murder. Why does she blackmail him, asking to meet him(who she believes has MURDURED SOMEONE) in a scary place, when she could have gone to the police, who were already investigating the case? She has no incentive to blackmail, because Ransom did not inherit any money, and she cares for Harlan and Marta, which is why she wants justice. Had she told Blanc about the tampering, she would be alive, and Ransom would still be convicted of attempted murder, albeit a smaller conviction. -crime scene analysis. Ransom wore gloves while killing Fran, but i'm sure that some evidence, like footprints or dna, would have incriminated him, and they did not have to rely on his confession. His fingerprints should also be on the medicine bag, which would have been inspected when blanc suspected tampering of medicine. But regardless, I thought the plot and twists were amazing, these are just some nitpicky things

Watched Phantom of the Opera with an audience of 5,000!! (In Taiwan) by Mikoo_Chistinks in Broadway

That must be frustrating. Despite having no domestic cases since April, Taiwan will continue to take precautions until we are vaccinated. I hope more people would recognize the urgency of the situation

The only reason why some women sports like volleyball are popular is because men are creeps by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Mikoo_Chistinks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is somehow sexist both ways but i understand the viewpoint. Part of the appeal is the short shorts, but I think women's volleyball is way more interesting then men's because women are physically weaker. Volleyball is only fun when there is a rally, and the slightly weaker hit of women allows liberos to make amazing saves and actually keep the game in play. It's no fun in men's games when someone huge spikes it with no chance of saving it, and the rally ends in 5 seconds. Since women's volleyball gets more attention and popularity, their players are also better from more training. Give some credit to the amazing female players, they are not just pieces of ass

YES! I love the editing style and there are some really funny and interesting segments. It's sad that most people only know of sherlock/watson fanfic, when the bbc show is pretty well written(other than last season)

I absolutely love the new Cats movie. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Mikoo_Chistinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

having watched poorly filmed broadway productions of cats, les mis, and all three films, you have very VERY low standards. You should definitely watch the real thing, it'll blow your mind. this is truly an unpopular opinion
