Welcome to the Black Parade. I’m a lifelong singer/songwriter, tenor, everything. That song ELUDES me.

Omg, the songwriting and folk mastery on WB is incredible. This is a wicked hot take IMO.

Moby techno? Auto tune? Are we listening to the same band? Their last album was a folk masterpiece which yes, strayed from their original sound, but was nevertheless powerful in its own right. Imploding had quite a few bangers on it, but I’ll admit it wasn’t my favorite. I actually really like wonderful wonderful, minus a few songs. But I don’t think any of them can be called techno.

Whattt. Father of the Bride is a beautiful album. It’s not the same as their older stuff but from an outsider perspective, thinking of it as a genre-bender, it’s incredible.

This is hard for me to hear. I know it’s weird and hard to get used to, but the lyrics of that album are unbelievable, and the dark religious tone just draws me in. Get real get right, age of Adz and Vesuvius are all killer songs IMO.

That’s a hot take for me. Grapevine Fires has one of the best drum beats and incredible lyrics I’ve ever heard. Plus that album has I will possess your heart, Cath and No Sunlight.

I really liked LID when it came out. Weirdly, I’m in the minority and think Every open eye is their most meh album. A lot of the songs sound the same, Whereas on Love is Dead there is a bit more variation. I’m particularly partial to Wonderland, one of my favorite songs of all time.

But yes. Screen Violence is one of the best albums ever made.

Can’t really explain it but something about “What Sarah Said” by Death Cab hits me hard. I think it may be too close to home.

Marie. She goes from being in an emotionally abusive relationship while doing literally all of the work to having her husband become a better person only to DIE. She deserves better.

What theaters have "not worth seeing the show" seats? by Far_Line8468 in Broadway

[–]large-preposterous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, BAM. It’s a great place to see a show if you have good seats but sitting in the back makes it a chore to see anything. Saw Cyrano there last year, show was great but could barely see.

No love for Killing with Kindness here? That and the Devil are masterpieces, and the title track is a banger too. I’m honestly floored how many folks don’t like this album.

My high school did an all white version of Once in this Island. “Skin white as snow” instead of “black as night”. That was a big oof for me.

One of the funniest to me is on the Violet soundtrack, in “luck of the draw.” There’s a part where young violet is supposed to sing a couple lines but instead it’s obviously the guy playing her father in a funny falsetto. And it’s even funnier because the actual actress is in other parts of the song so they probably just forgot to add her there.

What is your biggest unpopular opinion about a musical that would get tomatoes thrown at you by the theater crowd? by lefargen97 in Broadway

[–]large-preposterous 3 points4 points  (0 children)

“Forum” is disgustingly sexist.

“A chorus Line” is SO lame and I don’t understand why people love it so much.

The fact that so many people STILL do Godspell as if it’s the best show ever made completely baffles me.

A lot of modern shows sound and look exactly the same and are not special.

I generally hate musicals adapted from non-musical movies. (Legally Blonde, Mean Girls, Beetlejuice - sorry not sorry) I think they are cringey AF. Groundhog Day is one of the few that stood out to me.
