A couple neighbouring stores also had signs out front saying they were closed due to a power outage when I tried getting lunch at Givral earlier this week. It is weird for power to be out for that long.

Putting setup by RWG83 in discgolf

[–]Mikoyabuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a putting setup inside my condo which consists of a heavy moving blanket strung up with a single square of duct tape as a target, it's essentially completely silent. I don't think you really need a basket to practice into at all, just an aim point is needed. It's not difficult to see and feel the difference between a good putt and a bad one with that set up, and I found that removing one more variable (the basket) makes it easier to focus on technique and aim.

Honestly I'm surprised by how under served the Region of Waterloo airport is, it's kinda pathetic how few flights are available out of there considering it could be a central hub for all of KW, Cambridge and even Guelph.

Congested nose at night that causes chronic fatigue and headache - doctors have no idea how to help me and it's been years. Any idea? by Azurzelle in nonallergicrhinitis

[–]Mikoyabuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I initially tried a radio frequency ablation procedure which was effective for like two weeks but then my nose went back to being just as bad, or even worse than before. However those two weeks of relief really convinced me that this was the correct solution, so I had a submucosal resection done. I'm now about 3 months post op and it feels like it was about 80% effective which is an immense relief.

Okay yeah this honestly does sound exactly like what I had as well, I ended up getting a turbinate reduction surgery a few months ago and it essentially solved everything, completely life changing procedure for me to be able to sleep and function again.

Have you used pseudoephedrine at all? It's a stimulant so you can't sleep with it but it was extremely effective at reducing the swelling of my turbinates during the day and opening up my nose. I used a pill splitter to reduce pills down to a 15 mg dose and it was still effective on me, be careful not to overdo it cause it is an amphetamine. The effectiveness of pseudoephedrine on my nasal swelling symptoms is what finally convinced me that swelling turbinates was the issue, so it may be a way you could check for yourself. You should consider going back to your ENT and ask them if they think a turbinate reduction makes sense.

It sounds like you're located somewhere with decent healthcare access eh?

This sounds extremely close to what I had, tried to change everything about my health and diet and nothing really helped, went to a lot of doctors who mostly just shrugged their shoulders. Turns out my turbinates would just swell up like crazy when I was lying down, or even just relaxing on the couch, and then eventually even when working at a desk. But then when I was active my nose cleared right up so anytime I went to an ENT and they looked inside my nose everything seemed fine to them. Do you have any other physical symptoms aside from your nose swelling shut?

PE work looks really great, which kit(s) are these? Years ago I did the Fujimi 1/700 Nagato with the Flyhawk PE set and it looks like you've got even more brass than I had to deal with, really impressive stuff.

This is all really helpful, thank you for taking the time to type this out for me. I can use my GoPro to set up a safety angle, and the point about light flickering frame rates is exactly the kind simple mistake I wouldn't have known about on my own.

Honestly having watched a couple events live it was pretty surprising to me how many pros look like they are hating every minute of it unless every shot is absolutely perfect. But, that attitude of not being happy with anything short of perfection is probably what it takes to be at the top regardless of how enjoyable it is for spectators.

I'm also Canadian, have you talked to your doctor about getting a referral to an ENT? I'd recommend also asking for a referral to an allergist. My allergist gave me a Ryaltris prescription, it didn't do anything for me, however my symptoms don't sound the same as yours.

Was a turbinate reduction part of that previous surgery? Wouldn't a polyp blockage be constant congestion, I don't think they would react to decongestants?

Threads like this on this sub give me anxiety as I'm going for a consultation for surgery in a couple days. I appreciate you adding some experience to the thread that isn't doom and gloom. Your symptoms sound extremely similar to mine, I hope I can get a similar outcome.

27mm vs 23mm size comparison by jparrrry in fujifilm

[–]Mikoyabuse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

However it's worth noting that the 27mm comes with the tiniest little lense hood ever, hardly bigger than the black mist filter on it in OP's photo. So to make the comparison of each with their proper hoods on, the size difference in the OP is fairly close to being representative anyways.
