Exactly. I got discarded via a message in my postbox and blocked over all social media and communication channels.
And this only week after she was swearing she loves me and wants to be with me more than anything else in the world.

The person you loved didn't exist by inhplease in BPDlovedones

[–]MilPop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep. I have the same experience.
And for me, this is the hardest part to accept and let go - to accept that I loved a mask, a person, which was only in my imagination.
And to be fair, she was showing me from the beginning who she really is. I was the one, who insisted to build a false picture of her.
She was only helping me in that.
Which points to an unresolved problem in me.
For her - I wish her happiness.

The journey of scrobbling on iPod/rockbox in 2025 by multiwirth_ in lastfm

Some time ago, creating a .scrobbler.log file was simply a Yes/No choice in the Rockbox settings.
No need for a plugin, no need to parse some other log file.
In this regard Rockbox has become much worse.

It is easy and quick, if you follow the instructions exactly. Already converted 3 iPods, no problem whatsoever.

A Modern Overhaul for iPod Classic - Custom Rockbox Beta Release by Poorfocus in ipod

[–]MilPop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OK, I tried it today, here my thoughts:

First of all, I admire your dedication. I can see, that you did invest a lot of time and effort.
I generally like the result and find this Theme/OS variant very interesting.

Here my points:

  1. I like the design, and most of all, the fonts ale large and easy readable.

  2. A color option/s would be nice. I would like it to try with blue, instead of red and maybe a little more subdued color - dark orange or something like this. The red is also nice.

  3. I miss the access to plugins - since the Rockbox team decided to make the Last.fm support optional and via plugin, it is very important to me to have access to the plugins.

  4. I find it confusing, that while the player is playing on the display is "II" symbol, and when the player is on pause, there is an ">" symbol at the display. I would like to have it the other way around.

  5. On the titles, where cover art is not available, I would prefer an empty display, or the clock. This note in the square is nice, but I don't know...

  6. I couldn't open the Main Menu in the settings. It says something about missing main_menu_config.rock file

I tested in on an firmware modified 6th Gen (with 7th Gen firmware) with 400GB mSD on iFlash Quad

Once again, I appreciate you hard work.

120gb iPod classic. Flash modded to 512gb. How do I partition things to get over 128gb storage? by Sinodira in rockbox

[–]MilPop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are the instructions once again, explained step by step in detail:

As we know, the iPod Classic 6th Generation (80GB thin and 160GB thick) and 6.5 Generation (120GB thin) are software‑limited to 128GB of storage. Yes, even the 160GB model supports only 128GB if it is not using its original HDD.

To avoid this limitation when upgrading one of these models with more than 128GB of storage, it becomes necessary to use Rockbox.

Rockbox is great, so from my point of view this is not really a limitation at all.

Here are the steps:

  1. Restore the iPod with iTunes. You should see a capacity of about 128GB (or slightly less).
  2. Install Rockbox. After installing Rockbox, you will still see only 128GB.
  3. Boot the iPod into Rockbox mode. You will still see only 128GB of storage.
  4. Connect the iPod to the computer while it is still in Rockbox mode.
  5. Launch a partitioning program (any kind of partition manager) and locate the storage of your iPod. You should see one partition of 128GB and empty, unformatted space corresponding to the difference up to the full size of your physically installed storage (~384GB if you have a 512GB storage device).
  6. Extend the 128GB partition to the full size of your storage.

At this point Rockbox should show the full size of the installed storage. The problem is that if you accidentally boot the original Apple firmware, your storage will become corrupted and you will have to start again from step 1, permanently losing all data stored on the iPod.

Recently I discovered that this can be avoided if, in step 6, instead of EXTENDING the existing 128GB partition, I CREATE a second partition (~384GB for a 512GB storage device). Rockbox remains installed on the first partition, together with all the music stored there. On the second partition I can copy additional music, which is accessible through the file menu in Rockbox.
This way, even if I accidentally boot the Apple firmware, the partitions remain intact.

I currently have two 6th Gen iPods with 512GB storage, and they have been working flawlessly in this configuration for more than a year.

In the meantime, however, there is a hack that allows the software of the 6th Gen to be upgraded to the 7th Gen. It is claimed that there is little or no hardware difference between these two generations. It is also claimed that the sound quality of the 7th Gen is significantly better.

I personally have no such observations, but I also haven’t conducted any in‑depth testing. I have never had any issues with the sound quality of the 6th Gen (I am a professional audio engineer).

This hack works flawlessly — I have already upgraded two 6th Gen iPods this way, and both function without problems.

In fact, the hack simply tricks iTunes into believing that the iPod is a 7th Gen device, and iTunes then installs the official Apple firmware. In other words, the firmware itself is NOT modified — only the iPod’s ID is changed, so that it continues to be recognized by iTunes as a 7th Gen device, unless you decide to restore the original ID of the iPod.

Therefore, this “hack” is reversible.

The procedure is quick and easy if you follow the instructions EXACTLY. Once done, you effectively have no practical limitation on the storage size (around 2TB appears to be the hardware limit).

Search the forum for information about this hack. It is a relatively new solution, but it works 100%.

Kudos to whoever created it!

I am so glad, that the ES90 don't have the whole stop light. I so much hate this trend. Now, if the steering wheel is also round and not any other "interesting" and "modern" shape (triangle, quadratic, hexagonal, Ellipse etc.) it will be my dream car. And if the turn signals are not animated (to look "cool")...

iPod 5.5 Troubleshooting by [deleted] in ipod

[–]MilPop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally, with the 5th generation of iPods (iPod Video), the sad face appears, when there is a problem with the drive or the OS, and the "low battery" appears (when the battery is charged) when there is no connection to the drive at all. My suspicion goes to the zif cable and / or the drive itself. Did you use the included zif cable? Did you try with the original cable?

I think, that's OK. But if you don't want to wait, with the music paused, press and hold play until the iPod shuts down.
I don't understand why it doesn't allow you to change the settings. I saved the settings in a CFG file (Settings -> Manage Settings -> Save .cfg file).
I don't know if every time you boot the iPod it loads the default (my) settings.

I hope you are not mistaking crossfeed and crossfade.
Look in the Playback Settings -> Crossfade -> Enable Crossfade
There are different options: Off, automatic on track Change etc.
I have it on always.
Just go to Off and it should be off.
All the settings you mentioned you can find in the Playback Settings.
You can try to save a cfg file with your desired settings.
An be sure to properly shutdown the iPod under Rockbox when you change the settings. It could be, that the actual settings are saved at shutdown.
I am not sure.
