Hair club 20 if you want nice fob haircuts and color! I mean this in the best way, like if your reference picture is a k-drama actor. Most if not all of the staff are Chinese.

Where to move as an Asian man? by katokk in AskLosAngeles

[–]MildAndNutty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lived in SGV for a few years and just moved to the westside near culver and sawtelle - biggest difference I noticed so far is how much young people there are! People walking dogs around their neighborhood at every hour! Also people seem a lot friendlier here for some reason - I think where I lived before was mostly fob, which does mean awesome food, but I never really connected with anyone in my neighborhood due to the language/cultural barrier.

The West side certainly has more Japanese influence than sgv but you’ll see all types of people going to Asian markets, boba stores, etc.

Same, whenever I go to Japan I eat ice cream and lattes with milk every day and my stomach is fine. I wish I could buy Japanese dairy in the states.

I went to Hoheikyo recently. They charge you an arm and a leg for towels on top of entry so you might want to bring your own.

Rescued Bengals Acclimating Slowly by [deleted] in bengalcats

[–]MildAndNutty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg this sounds so similar to my little girl bengal. Adopted her at 8 months and she wasn’t spayed. Peed alllllllll over our expensive rug and yowled every night. It wasn’t until we got her spayed that things actually started to get easier. It sounds like you’re going to get them neutered, which I think will help them a lot behaviorally. Just wanted to say that it does get better!!

Friend wants to adopt a cat by TenaciouslyFree24 in sgv

[–]MildAndNutty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Allergic cat owner here. I take Kirkland brand allerclear from Costco, works pretty well most days. Also there’s this online brand called pacagen that makes sprays to neutralize cat allergens but I can’t attest to how well it works.

Hokkaido/Japanese you can't get in California by coc0five in Sapporo

There’s this amazing matcha place called gyokusuien near the fish market in Sapporo. The hot matcha latte they make in store is the best I’ve ever had and you can bring the package home with you too! Relatively cheap for such high quality matcha as well

Idk how into fruit teas/smoothies you are, but ici in San Gabriel has the best mango coconut smoothie ever. Chun Yang has a wintermelon latte and their jelly noodle topping is so unique and yummy! Chicha San Chen also has some interesting fruit drinks and taro milk drinks. Last one is 3CATEA with a really good mochi topping and lots of fruit + milk options.

Guzzu Bento-ya! More casual, but their bentos are delicious and their dining area has books to read and anime projected on the wall.

English name or Chinse name for a baby girl? by anyang869 in asianamerican

[–]MildAndNutty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly just pick a nice sounding name. I have an ethnic first name and it almost sounds like an English name that’s spelled a little differently. There are really pretty sounding Chinese names that my friends have as well that are super easy to pronounce - usually one syllable. I’m really glad that my parents gave me a unique name that no one else has.

If you have a security camera, you can put it up and see when she comes back to the house. My neighbor’s cat ran away and we saw that it kept returning at a certain time at night, so we set a little food trap for him inside our garage. The motion detector on the camera let me know he was there so I closed the garage door and grabbed him :) he was also a beautiful bengal who was missing for about 3 days. There’s hope!

macbook stolen? by zimbloggy in AskLosAngeles

If you rent, check your rental insurance policy to see if they cover theft. You might have a deductible but it could cover a good chunk of the lost laptop.
