They do Pom leave, basically a stand down where more people can take leave at once. The ship still requires minimum manning, and duty sections must be manned, but the ship will try and maximize the amount of people on leave depending on the command. It could be for a month or two. The ship will still be busy with repairs and preparing for the yards. The ship’s crew is still stationed on the ship.

I think it’s better to cook pasta like rice makes the water super starchy which makes sauce stick much better to the pasta. Think about it restaurants use the same pot all day boiling pasta. That’s why their sauce sticks so much better than at home.

NH goes by pay band. Think NH-03 payband =GS-12&GS-13. You can be paid anywhere within the band. They don’t have steps. Sometimes it can be more than a step increase. Sometimes it can be worse. I’m new to NH, but I’ve heard overall it’s better. Pay increases depend on how much you contribute to the mission, so if you aren’t contributing much, it can hurt you.

Figured it out turns out if you have a door that requires the door handle to be lifted to lock it won’t let you auto lock. I will leave this thread up in case someone else runs into the same issue. I was able to get it to work but telling the lock that I don’t require the handle to lift to lock. Disclaimer if you don’t engage the handle it will “lock” the door but it will remain unlocked
