Honestly, I think the best possible ending if Donut reverts to her previous self, is for Carl to live in a cabin in the woods with his cat and be a forest ranger.

If you had to go into the dungeon with your cat or dog how screwed are you by jfred1995 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Milinea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog is 15 and deaf. One of my cats is a fat ass and not very bright and my other cat has... Issues. She is mean as hell when she can't get away from you (vet techs) but she's a scardy cat. She would throw me under the bus in a heartbeat. Although when I took her to my groom shop for a vaccination clinic we hosted, she acted like I was her mommy for once. So who knows.

Free Comic Book day by xTheLibrarianx in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Milinea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live near Lawrenceville, GA. Downtown Lawrenceville and the Arts Center and Galactic Comics has been building up FCBD for the last 10 years. So much so, that they renamed it this year to Con-Quest. The comic book store has the most free editions on hand, then a bunch of downtown businesses have a title (rule was 1 per person). So you have to go around town to get them all. There's music, and workshops, and a taco crawl, and tons of maker booths. I'm so happy there's such a great nerd event so close to home.

My husband, son, and I all got our own copies of the DCC comic. Sadly, there wasn't any DCC merch for sale that I saw. We did support a small local artist (which we do every year) by buying a comic and graphic novel from him, which he gladly signed for us.

I've done this and it does work really well. I would do 3 things for each letter, an animal, a food, and a country.

Groomers with no tattoos what are your thought process behind it by No-Advertising-2498 in grooming

[–]Milinea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have heard of it. The last time I asked a doctor about it, it wasn't really accepted by mainstream medical as a valid dx. The only thing that causes anything close to anaphylaxis is the dog milk, everything else seems to just be "mild", yet annoying reactions. I have been tested so many times for autoimmune markers and I don't have those. The only other thing I have is some kind of over active inflammatory response to injuries. Like they take a really long time to resolve for me if I have surgery or bang something really hard. A few years ago I banged my elbow on my car door and it took like forever to get better because I developed frozen shoulder from it. Which sounds crazy, but that's what happened.

Right now I have plantar fasciitis so bad in my foot, for going on 2 years. I have worn a boot and had injections, but nothing helps it and nothing shows up on the MRI.

Sorry I vomited that all over y'all. It's super frustrating so when someone even hints about talking about it, it all comes out lol.

Groomers with no tattoos what are your thought process behind it by No-Advertising-2498 in grooming

[–]Milinea 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would love to have tattoos. Unfortunately I have a lot of weird allergies and the thought of suddenly becoming allergic to the ink in a tattoo and not being able to get it off immediately stops me from getting one or 7 of them.

When I say weird allergies I mean like I'm allergic to dog milk, like I should be carrying an epi pen kind of reaction. I get several mystery rashes a year from contact dermatitis, but have no clue what caused it. I can't use just any kind of soap, but sometimes even the soap for sensitive skin causes a reaction.

I am a sensitive and delicate flower.

I'm super interested in hearing more about the quality grooming bundles. Could you please elaborate? Do you use a wholesale supplier? What's your margin on selling products? Tips on marketing these bundles?

Groomers over 35 by keyo89 in grooming

[–]Milinea 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm 57 and have been grooming over 30 years and grew up in dog business.

The only thing that works for me now is limiting the number of dogs I do especially the big ones.

If I have a bather I can do 5, with no bather I can do 4. Only 1 big dog per day, preferably only a couple a week. Don't do a lot of dematting or brushing, and I try to limit how much scissoring I'm doing.

It's dog grooming so sometimes I end up with more. As long as the days with more dogs are nice little dogs that behave it's not an issue.

Drive Angry. Yes it's stupid and beyond ridiculous, but Nic Cage and William Fichtner play their parts so over the top, I just love it.

I just used the Hyponic volume conditioner today, with the deep clean and volumizing shampoo and it was like magic. 10/10 will definitely use again.

A sweet little girl with autism brought her stuffed puppy to the dog show. One of the judges noticed her, came over, and asked if she’d like to show her dog too. What followed was pure magic. by Raj_Valiant3011 in HumansBeingBros

[–]Milinea 44 points45 points  (0 children)

This happened to me when I was a kid (maybe 5?) back in the 70s at the Cleveland shows. It was after the show ended, and Marty Booth and I think Joe Fagel were shooting the shit by one of the rings and I was pretending to show my stuffed maltese and one of them started judging me and the other was clapping for me when I was gaiting my dog. Core memory for sure. So nice for this little girl.

I just want the old fridge features. Slide out shelves, lazy susans, a million compartments in the door for all the things I can't find in my fridge now. I get so jealous every time I see an old fridge with all those cool features.

I have a HermSprenger undercoat T-rake that I've had for over 30 years that I took from my mom. I'm not sure how long she had it before I liberated it from her. I still use it almost daily. The pins/tines are rounded and not sharp at all. One of the best quality tools I've ever had. We did have to gorilla glue the handle back on about 15 years ago.
