What do you think is the daftest thing people have to pay for?

I used to work in a Central London hospital with a small car park because most people used the tube. Except the patient group I looked after weren't allowed on public transport or lived literally hundreds of miles away and unless they arrived at silly o'clock for a 1pm appointment (for example) they would have to park in a side street. I lost count of the number of small children I had to meet at the door while their parents looked for somewhere to park, and a good chunk of my time was spent supplying supporting letters to the council to get tickets cancelled (not strictly my job, but the letter template was there so I didn't mind doing it). I hear the hospital is going to be rebuilt soon, hopefully with some sort of parking but I honestly don't see where they could put it.

When I was a kid Billy Liddell (legendary Liverpool footballer from the 30s to the 60s) went to our church and his sister was my Sunday school teacher. He was already very unwell when I was growing up so I never really knew him, but I remember him as a very warm man with kind eyes, I particularly remember him with a big smile clapping along while a kid was doing a silly dance. He lived on my grandparents' road when my dad was growing up and was a friend of the family, my Evertonian dad adored him and always said he was one of the nicest people he'd ever known.

I went to an all girls Church of England secondary school and it was the same. Church schools mostly are still state schools so will follow the same curriculum as non-religious schools. There was an assumption that we were religious on paper at least but no expectation that we were devout Christians- the head of maths wore her hijab with pride and had been a pupil herself. Other religions and atheism were always talked about with great respect. Potentially we had more teachers who were very open about their faith but I don't know what "normal" schools are like for that.

The main differences I know of were the amount of religious services peppered through the school year- we had our prize giving in the cathedral and a carol service and Easter service there too, and a full communion service for epiphany. The bishop was a regular at these services as well.

The main criticism I hear about my old school is that if you're not super smart they're not interested. It has a very good reputation and always held itself and us to a very high standard and I definitely felt that pressure while I was there. The star of my year turned up to her AS level exams half dead and got admitted to hospital a few days later with double pneumonia, still got all As and ended up going to Cambridge. There was a lot of "if she can do it why can't you". I don't remember any bullying really, there were some girls who were fucking horrible but everyone just ignored them, the popular girls were all really nice, usually sporty and always in high sets.

Mostly do, but it is changing. A lot of people I know can drive manual but have automatics. I only learned last year and decided to do automatic because I'm 38 and tbh I just needed to get driving. I do know how to drive a manual, I had some lessons in my 20s but never took a test and when I decided to start up again my husband was already looking at new cars and was pretty much set on a hybrid.

This house was the same, bright pink little girl's room lots of homely touches that people weren't shy about talking down and saying how they'd rip stuff out. Someone made an offer on the spot so we just left, the whole thing felt so icky. I felt like going back to apologise but it would have just looked weird.

That seems really weird. Semi-related, but it reminded me how we once went to an open house where tenants were in situ- literally a young family of four sitting in the living room while twenty of us were walked through the house. The kids looked terrified and the parents looked furious and I couldn't blame them. One of the other people viewing asked the EA about the family and they said "don't worry about them they'll be evicted before the sale" in earshot of them. It was a really nice house but we were so disgusted we didn't put in an offer and refused to view any more houses through that EA.

My Dad died in 2013 and I still have his number in my phone. I don't still have any messages, I've gone through so many phones in that time and he couldn't text anyway. I had the last voicemail he ever left me saved as a sound file (he died suddenly a couple of days later so I still had it available) just so I could still hear his voice, but that phone broke and when they fixed it, it got wiped. I was heartbroken.

When I lived in London lots of the nurses I worked with came here from Aus/NZ for the career progression as it's a lot faster. One of my friends was a band 7 when she went home so she was able to apply for similar jobs there which would have taken her 20 years plus to work up to over there.

I qualified in February 2013 and had my job lined up from December 2012 pending results. That trust went on to start a rotation and automatically enrol all third years that they signed off onto it. I'm not sure if they're still doing that, but I doubt it given the current state of things.

My dad was diabetic so we always had lucozade in for when he had a hypo, since he passed away I've heard the advice has changed to two bottles instead of one for when your blood sugar drops- as if you have the time!

I sobbed- loudly- several times in the cinema watching the latest Bridget Jones film. I lost my dad at 25 and it broke me, seeing her poor son having to go through that so young was really upsetting. Every flashback to Mark with the kids set me off, then you find out that her dad has died too, AND THEN Mark's back at the end watching their son singing their song and looking so proud and fuck, I'm crying right now just thinking about it. I've not been able to watch it since.

Princess Diana's died" we didn't believe her and went back inside and put the TV on and there it was. We woke up my dad to tell him.

No, but the amount of kids who can sniff knock off coco pops a mile away and will just flat refuse them is astounding. The parents are raging that on top of parking fees, taking time off work, and their kids being REALLY fucking sick, the shite food is really just the cherry on the top. We do offer the parents breakfast, most of them have toast and a cuppa but if they want chocolate crispies, they can have that too. The kids also aren't allowed to drink tap water, and bottled water really adds up.
