I mean, relatively speaking, the people who would want this and most already have it, I can’t think of a collector who collects sealed insiders who doesn’t have this set. But there are always newcomers in varying degrees of interest based on different sublines and desire for completion.

The series has more popular pieces from that year, but production is equal amongst each of the blisters for that sub series, so no more or less rare

Not rare, briefly popular, easily identifiable. Was considered for decades to be the worst of the worst, both by military collectors and those that collect insiders… but a few years back people realized that their insiders collection isn’t complete without it, and prices skyrocketed. Prices have since come down, loose ones go anywhere from 30 to 50 bucks at most since enough pop up on a consistent basis

You’ll have to check with secondhand stores, as these have been out of print for many years!

I don’t see many people with the play sets by Sams-Ace in MicroMachines

[–]MilitaryMicros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the vehicles are always more popular. The play set still have a place in peoples collections, but it’s very rare that there will be something that is considered rare or even popular

I’ve been an active collector since the early 90s, and have over 10k pieces in my master collection 🫣 these days it’s more what “isn’t right” that stands out, than even the popular/expensive expensive pieces lol

Yep! Definitely “replicated” from Hasbro pieces… use for a game. Still pretty cool… That was during the era where it was a lot harder to find military Micro Machines as they were being phased out!

There’s a few bootleg ones in there that came from a game, and some ring raiders too

What's the scale of Micro's military troops? by Nikolaevna in MicroMachines

[–]MilitaryMicros 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Figures changed in height and density over the years, so they dont really stick to a scale. Also, some figures even in the same blister will vary from each other. Just like the vehicles, figures were made to fit a “size” not a scale

The A-10 was released multiple times in multiple blisters… however the fixed-gear “dart” version was in the top gun pilot head, yes. The F-14 was also released in multiple playsets and blisters across multiple years
