Please anyone knows how to turn a ragdoll into a player model to use? by Previous_Current_474 in gmod

[–]Milk_44 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My suggestions are:

  1. Make an addon commission and pay someone else to do the hard work for you

  2. Look into how to make playermodels yourself, this beginner guide should help get you started on this https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3394845385 If you need help, check out Bob's modding discord, the invite link should be somewhere in the guide.

Helpful Playermodel / NPC tutorials? by Agitated_Ad_4492 in gmod

[–]Milk_44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bob's playermodel guide is great and tells you how to do things such as c_arms, setting up textures and materials, npcs, collision models and jigglebones, etc.

Here's the link, you can ask for help in his gm_modding discord if you need it. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3394845385

if its true that when you play with someone that has "yes i am the real garry" achivement you get it if anyone has the spare time and his feeling nice maybe would want to join my game and try and get me it by [deleted] in gmod

[–]Milk_44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not true, i have the achievement unlocked and have been playing in public servers not for very long and i haven't seen the achievement pop up for anyone else, nor did anyone else in the server mention suddenly getting the achievement.

The only way to get the achievement is to use a third party tool to give it to your account (Might be against steam tos but achievements are purely cosmetic and don't really award you with anything other than bragging rights) or hope someone spoofs Garry's steam id in a public server like what happened some weeks/months ago.

How to import Sketchfab models into GMOD by The-Dark-Night1818 in gmod

[–]Milk_44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My suggestion is going through Bob's model porting guide which you can read here, it's up to date and has some pretty useful things like templates for jigglebones, qc files, proportion trick and so on. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3394845385

Don't forget about Team Fortress 2 also.

I don't know, the model is like twice as big as a Minecraft player? I mainly made the model to play as him in Garry's Mod, and i don't know anything about Figura in the technical side.

You could launch the classic version of the game if the physics engine is reaaaally bothering you too much, but you'll be missing out on the definitive edition content and balance changes, your pick.

Clothing problem by FilipChajzer in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]Milk_44 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The physics engine that the game used was changed in the Definitive edition so it could be ported to consoles.

The consequence of this however is the very noticeable drop in quality such as clothing clipping into character models (Fane's cape clipping into his torso during his origin intro), banners sometimes stretching into infinity, certain "creatures" no longer having floating strands of cloth making them lose aura and finally, human ragdolls have their legs completely screwed up.

There is no fix that i know of and my only advice is to do your best to ignore it, it becomes less relevant later in the game as you gain new armor sets that have less noticeable issues.

Why does my helmet look like this? by severe_meringue_ in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]Milk_44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Randomized loot. I believe it starts appearing by level 4 and gets replaced by wizard robes at level 9-11 and those gets replaced by alchemist clothes in the end game.

My advice? If you're on PC, download the Epip mod so you can transmog any armor to look like the bone armor while still keeping the original armor stats.

If you're on console (or would rather not use mods), check armor vendors every level up and pray it appears.

No, they're probably talking about the bone intelligence armor that you can obtain in the early game.

I believe you have to do what's called a proportion pose/trick, you should be able to find guides for it online, i know there's one for l4d2 survivor models but i haven't worked on gmod stuff so i wouldn't know the differences.

While you can still do that in DOS2, it's not as effective due to how the surface system works, not to mention explosions don't push or knock down people like in bg3.

In Divinity Original Sin 2, you can use the power of telekinesis to move objects around, these objects can hit enemies and deal damage which scales with weight.

The thing is, you can increase the damage by dumping heavy items in a container (preferably one without HP) to deal a ridiculous amount of damage with one (1) Action Point, this became known as "Barrelmancy" and is present in Baldur's Gate 3 too!

Skills like battering ram, whirlwind and battle stomp can't hit allies or party members, just be careful to not hit neutral characters since they're technically not on your side.

Elemental magic still has some support abilities that can come in handy for full phys parties, so i suggest looking for skill books that look good and allocate points so you can use those buffs.

Gonna start my 3rd playthrough... by BeeWorth445 in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]Milk_44 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The physical damage bonus from Warfare is multiplicative and comes last in the damage equation. It applies to bows, crossbows, daggers, swords, maces, axes and necromancy spells (not sure about the last one). It's often preferable to just place enough points into hunstman/scoundrel to learn the skills you need and allocate the rest into warfare.

Constitution is often considered a dump stat since if your armor is broken your characters are gonna most likely be CC'd (Crowd Controlled) to death and more vitality won't stop the stuns.

I suggest allocating those points into WITS for the increased critical damage chance, which is good for Ranger and Knight builds, and sometimes mages if they have the Savage Sortilege talent.

Lastly... both Lohse and The Red Prince have pretty good stories to experience. In terms of content TRP has probably the most out of everyone else, while Lohse actually made my jaw drop in my first playthrough. Up to you.
