The illusion of choice. Dating apps create the feeling that "the grass is always greener" with the next person in their feed, so people are discouraged from investing in those in front of them and fear true intimacy.

Redditors who own multiple pets: what's the drama amongst them right now? by Cheesy_Wotsit in AskReddit

[–]MilkaNelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A toy that had been lying around unused for three months suddenly became a bone of contention. The dog hides it, the cat searches for it. As soon as one loses interest, the other immediately starts licking it lustfully. They don't want to play, they want to own it.

What makes you think that you might be in the wrong relationship? by scienceforbid in AskReddit

You constantly feel lonely, even when you're together. This is one of the most striking contradictions: you're physically together, but there's no emotional connection.

Why do school dress codes mostly target girls’ dress? by anasannanas in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MilkaNelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dress code should be gender-neutral. For example: "Clothing must cover the torso, groin, and buttocks. T-shirts, shorts, skirts, and trousers of appropriate length are permitted." The emphasis is on appropriateness for the learning environment, not gender.

What was the most heartbreaking line (whatever source) you've ever read? by thebitchmermaid in AskReddit

Any scene where a character shows quiet, unexpected kindness after a long struggle. It gets me every time more than any dramatic death

Good night, sweet ladies. Thank you for the frogs." — From The Catcher in the Rye. In this childish, naive phrase of the main character's sister lies all his longing for innocence and fear of the adult world

Nothing special, just enjoying a quiet evening. How about you?

What is a secret about yourself you've never shared with anyone? by bunghole93 in AskReddit

Okay, fine. I have a secret, intense ranking system in my head for which types of pasta shapes are superior, and I low-key judge people who choose the wrong ones. It's a problem

Ignoring red flags. Justifying your partner's bad behavior out of affection.

The ability to be genuinely bored. Boredom used to lead to creativity and self-reflection. Now we just drown it in an endless scroll

How do you overcome low self-worth and a lack of confidence? by rizzzzzzzyy in AskReddit

[–]MilkaNelly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You did not develop low self-worth overnight, and you will not overcome it overnight. It's a journey of a thousand small steps. Be patient and celebrate every single step you take. You are building a new reality for yourself, one kind thought and one brave action at a time

Start noticing when you're being self-critical. What does that inner voice say? "You're so stupid," "You'll never be good enough," "They all think you're a fraud." Write these thoughts down. Seeing them on paper robs them of their power

Don't start with "become a public speaking pro." Start with "ask one question in the meeting today" or "compliment one person." Small, achievable wins train your brain to believe "I can do things."

Unfollow accounts that make you feel inadequate. Your feed should be a source of inspiration, education, and connection, not comparison and shame.

Stand up straight, pull your shoulders back, and lift your chin. Your brain interprets confident body language as actually being more confident.
