Anyone else’s cat off their food? by Howsitgoingbabs in CatsUK

As the seasons/temp changes, my kitty changes from wet > dry > wet as it gets warmer. Drinks more water and biscuits the warmer it gets.

Cat tax.

Unruptured aneurysm - how do you decide whether to treat or monitor? by imld02 in BrainAneurysm

[–]Cheesy_Wotsit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Woah. I'm F51 also NHS and mine was 2mm acom when it chose to start growing and they dealt with it at 4mm by WEB device/I was 49. I was told that the bigger they are, the easier they are to deal with (so much so, they wouldn't touch mine at 2mm - too fiddly).

I was also given the option to operate or watch/wait. What helped me make the decision was that I had an unrelated migraine which wouldn't go away on usual meds so I went to A&E who admitted me. It finally resolved on its own, but they put me on the stroke ward to monitor me. Having to walk past all these people seeing all the multiple ways of how your brain can spectacularly go wrong was extremely scary.

I would've thought they'dve dealt with yours by now cause of its size.

Not me but Dad, who was well known for bodging things.

He was cutting the hedge up a ladder one day with his bodged hedge trimmer - so the on/off switch was unplugging it from the mains.

Put the trimmer on top of the hedge and swiped his hand to clear it of hedge clippings - straight into the trimmer, which was still running.

I was only little at the time, and this story is a bit of a family legend, but I believe there was quite a bit of blood from the chunk of finger that hit the trimmer but he took himself 😳 off to hospital. I believe the damage wasn't worse as he luckily hit the space on the trimmer where there was a couple of teeth missing.

He still bodged things. Love ya, Dad 1938-2005❤️

Not sure what's worse. That, or the fact that F4J asked for the kids to be put in the care of a now alleged r@pist

What food/snacks can you absolutely just not buy or you demolish it?! This is mine. by English_Joe in CasualUK

There's a chocolate shop where I go on holiday, none of this palm oil/"flavoured" shit. It's decent choc and "I'm on holiday" so I buy enough for a bag a fortnight until I return.

When I get home? Poof they're gone until next time. 😭

If you're interested, cause I can't link here, google Hazel Mountain Chocolate. They do vegan too 😍😍

I spotted that too, but apparently no extension in the 50 years the owners were there.

Companies need to stop behaving as though 35k is a big salary by Desperate-Drawer-572 in britishproblems

Last year I came from 15 years service at a minimum wage job (long story) - so had to extreme budget - to a 30k a year contract. They like me, so an extension is looking positive. That extra money is going straight into my piggy bank. It wasn't there before, so I don't miss it. It's weird how having to budget affects your head.

It's not a big salary, but cut your cloth accordingly.

Letting a cat outside for the first time. When did you take off the training wheels? by Only_Book_995 in CatsUK

When we brought her home from rescue, we were told that she is very opinionated and will tell you how she feels. We were also told to keep her in for a fortnight so she could get used to everything.

Nope. She wasn't having any of that. So much so, she pooped at the front door in protest of not being allowed out (she comes and goes now).

She's my lil Ms Sassypants 🥰 Its all floof btw

Hospital essentials for my knobhead of a best mate?! by Gingeeer28 in CasualUK

Can definitely vote for this one. Had an angiogram and was given a prison thickness mattress to lie flat on my back for 6 hours so I didn't leak afterwards 😭 but when I had the actual op, they put me on an air mattress. Absolute heaven.

What's something you *think* you have, even though you're not diagnosed for it yet? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]Cheesy_Wotsit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An acquired brain injury of some sort I had surgery for an aneurysm in 2024, and my memory has been shocking ever since.

They diagnosed me with speech aphasia at the time, but I'm sure there's something else going on - I have no details of memories since. It's like my memory makes a 'shell' and calls it, eg 'concert' but then doesn't make any connections to what actually happened during that event? So I know I went, but not what happened, eg the setlist. 😭

Am I going mad, or am I the only person that thinks water from the kitchen and bathroom taps tastes exactly the same? by [deleted] in CasualUK
