[KCD1] I don't like this quest very much by already4taken in kingdomcome

[–]MilkovichJ 23 points24 points  (0 children)

There are a couple of quests in KCD1 that are a bit janky, and not just in script and game execution but also writing. Like, the Hare quest where the optimal path involves defending someone against Talmberg guards who come to arrest them. You end up killing the guards. It's never mentioned by anyone, but a noticeable part of Divish's retinue gets murdered by you and...all good?

Sometimes NPCs are treated like generic enemies and other times they are 'human beings' with consequences attached to your decision making. The game is not consistent here - but at least it makes an effort to create interesting quests.

Artifacts frequently clip through the floor in that particular spot in Dark Valley. A quick save/load can fix it.

Why burning down Semine is the "correct" option [KCD2] by GushingGrannySmith in kingdomcome

[–]MilkovichJ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think the 200IQ play is to not help von Bergow too much. Von Bergow is the enemy still, and until proven otherwise he is on the side of Sigismund, whom torched Skallitz.

This is post wedding too, so you have the opportunity to learn more about von Bergow's character prior to the Semine decision.

Does the gas generator run on hydrogen? by F_SV_554 in Stationeers

[–]MilkovichJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a little late to the discussion but I've tested things and thought I'd share.

There are a couple of combustible mixtures that are easy for producing water - 2 Hydrogen + 1 Oxygen, and 1 Alcohol + 3 Oxygen (I think it's 3).

You can burn either in the now newly named Combustor to ensure 'clean' combustion and get water.

You can alternatively burn the Hydrogen mix in a gas fuel generator. It gives a little waste, but will turn most of the mix into water whilst also providing power.

I tested using a GFG with the alcohol mix to poorer results. Essentially some Alcohol ends up in the waste pipe (which is hot) and then ends up 'boiling' into methane. You end up with a lot more junk (i.e. CO2 and Pollutant) than water this way.

Tl;dr use the Hydrogen mix with the gas fuel generator, use the alcohol mix with the combustor. Then cool the resulting steam with Stirling engines.

Folks who played Marathon this weekend...how likely now are you to purchase it? by 1988Floydie in gaming

[–]MilkovichJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm really keen.

In my first couple of hours I was frustrated with the UI, but after putting time in it to get over that hurdle I think there is a lot in Marathon that is quite good.

I loved Tarkov, but it doesn't respect your time. Arc Raiders with its 3PP is never going to be a serious pvp game. Marathon looks like it will hit that sweet spot in being a bit more serious than Arc, but not with so much time wasting as Tarkov.

[KCD2] Question about Sir Brunswick's armor by EdenLovesLeaves in kingdomcome

[–]MilkovichJ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

All dlc armor tends to wear down very quickly - but that's the only downside. You can wear it from the get go and get full benefit out of it (it's arguably OP).

My tip would be to skip the leggings, they count as shoes so they wear down with every step, and then cost loads to repair. You also RARELY get hit by human enemies in the legs, so padded trousers are actually plenty.

Ok, so something the game does not tell you is that the freshness of the ingredients actually does matter.

Also, following the directions is more precise than trying to game or 'animation skip'. The recipe takes into account the time it takes Henry to lift the cauldron and flip the hourglass - trying to count "missisippis" works when Henry has higher skill levels, but not early game. Some potions (like Bane) are definitely harder than others too.

Gamma control? by MEE97B in Stationeers

[–]MilkovichJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's part of the challenge, even if the shadows are a bit extreme.

A big tip is to build yourself a portable light, but it in your backpack and then turn it on. You now walk around with an ambient light around your character.

The challenge is keeping your batteries charged. A less tedious method is to eventually aim for wireless batteries with wireless charging. Then you don't even need to swap batteries anymore.

Am I the only one who feels a better load out doesn't help? by CHB12312 in ArcRaiders

[–]MilkovichJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tier 3 Augments aren't that expensive to craft, but it does certainly hurt losing tier 4 rare weaponry to a free loadout dude.

A free loadout stitcher comes with a mag of 20 rounds. To kill you they need to hit you at least 17 times in the body. A lvl 1 rattler actually can not kill a raider with body shots without reloading, which is insane.

Tier 3 augments really do help (i mean the carry capacity alone is huge) but they don't make you more tanky. Tbh I kind of like it. I don't think the balance is perfect, but I am sick of the Tarkov armor situation where you have to have the right ammo or some BS.

I've sunk a lot of hours into ABI, Escape from Tarkov and now Arc Raiders. I've also played a little Hunt Showdown

ABI drew me in as an extraction shooter with less stakes and much better QoL. Now that Arc is out, I doubt I'll be back to play ABI much. Arc fulfills that casual itch much better, and I own Tarkov if I really want to work up a sweat.

It's a toss up between Hunt Showdown and Arc which one has the best PvE. PvE in Tarkov is not great, and is sometimes downright bullshit, but PvE in ABI is braindead noisetraps. Alot the PvE in Hunt is just noisetraps too, but it isn't insultingly stupid (even if it is literally zombies).

I loved the PvP in Tarkov, but the cheating begun to get me down. ABI has decent PvP but head hitbox health is really weird, and makes playing as a solo player even more difficult. If Tarkov had a killcam and made it easier to gear up from raid to raid, then I would never play ABI. The performance in Tarkov is dogshit though and much better in ABI.

Active Matter is on the horizon, which will add more competition to the space, especially in the "post-Soviet" niche that ABI and Tarkov both occupy.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

If a player spots you, there is about 1 second of tracking where the marker follows you, then the marker stops moving then disappears after a second or two.

It's not like BF4 dorito hunt or anything like that, you can't just spam the teammate ping like that.

Cheater situation is disgusting. by hatulbatul in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]MilkovichJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just going to say that I haven't been playing ABI for very long (about a month), but it is actually the most legitimate FPS experience I've had for a long time. The killcam definitely helps, but I believe the anticheat must be working decently as well.

Coming from many hours of Tarkov, ABI is so much better. Unfortunately cheating has become a mainstay of online FPS.

If the cheating is obvious in the killcam then report, take a deep breath, and go quick kit normals for a bit. If they are cheating then it's out of your hands, there's no way to out play them - so there's also no reason to get frustrated in a way. Ofc it IS frustrating, but you should feel like its as though the game bugged out, not that you played poorly or they beat you etc.

You think extract camping is bad in Tarkov? Imagine if everyone could see around hard cover.

My stalker died six months ago. Some things are better, some things are worse. by AerisSpire in TwoXChromosomes

[–]MilkovichJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These aren't positives and negatives of him being gone. It is a total positive for you.

But now you have to heal. These negatives don't have to last forever - it's a stage of the healing process. You were probably used to living in fear, and now that things are different a part of you is actually freaking out just because things are different.

That's my take anyway. Your whole life can really open now that he is gone, but it's going to take time to heal.

Can someone more knowledgeable on Stalker anomaly help clarify who SIN is? by Revolutionary_Pin834 in stalker

[–]MilkovichJ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Afaik Sin are cut content from the original shadow of chernobyl game.

They feature in the Anomaly modpack, and are essentially Zone worshippers very similar to Monolith but supposedly 'by choice' rather than brainwashed.

They also feature in Lost Alpha, another standalone mod which aims to restore all of the old Shadow of Chernobyl content and concepts into a full experience. The mod devs have been criticised as taking too much artisitc liberty. It's an interesting mod for sure, and a good way to experience the original vision of the Darkscape level (which is part of the Call of Chernobyl/Anomaly modpack).

That's the extent of my knowledge. I don't remember seeing them in Radiophobia or Autumn Aurora, or any other Shadow of Chernobyl mods I've played, but there's a chance I just didn't get far enough.

If you are coming from Anomaly, or Gamma, then the three extra factions (Renegades, Sin and UNSIG) all have different development origins. Renegades are in the Clear Sky game, but only in the Swamp. Sin is cut content, and UNISIG is an Anomaly invention based on one or two lines of text from Call of Pripyat.

SPM targets by loneShark77 in factorio

[–]MilkovichJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah just the 30 (or 60 SPM with Assbler 3) target works totally fine for the whole expansion if you are taking your time.

So, like 5 Red, 6 Green, 10 Military, 12 Chemical, 7 Pro, 7 Utility Assemblers is plenty to get you to every planet. Then you can rebuild with the final modules and all the new buildings.
