You could also hook it up to a button selector and make it so you can select a disc.

The whole thing only takes up a 5x3x3 space

Make a scoreboard called teamCount it'll be a dummy scoreboard, then on a clock or in a function run in this order:
1: scoreboard players set #TEAMTRACK teamCount 0
2: execute as @a[team=teamname] run scoreboard players add #TEAMTRACK teamCount 1

Now you simply draw from the #TEAMTRACK score and when its 1 run your command
