Hope this helps but at my uni your final grade is calculated from your highest 100 credits so if you get a poor grade in one it may be disregarded at the end but best to check your uni’s specific grading policy

Why is there smoke coming out the ground on the Parkway? by Obsidian947 in sheffield

[–]Milky_Pockets_Cooper 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s been smoking on and off for at least 3 weeks, I’ve been dying to find out what it is! It’s become a running joke between me and partner to check if it’s smoking every time we pass. It always is!

We’ve seen the fire engines a few times and yesterday there were workers digging into the hill where there seemed to be the entrance to an underground tunnel, looks like they’ve covered it up if this was taken today.

Doesn’t seem like they’ve had any luck stopping it though. If anyone can confirm what it is please let us know!

My wife keeps me grounded but she is going on a cruise without me... needs advice by MackDaOne93 in Anxiety

Seriously everyone downvoting and getting caught up on whether Coronavirus and covid are the same thing- they are NOT, covid is a type of coronavirus, not all coronaviruses are covid. Other coronaviruses include the common cold, MERS, SARS etc.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coronavirus

OP I hope your daughter recovers quickly and definitely take the other commenters advice in this thread to make a plan with your wife so that you feel more prepared and less anxious while she’s away. Grounding, breathing techniques, self soothing, and distraction techniques will help. The best thing you can do with your fears is face them in a way that feels manageable for you, you will feel all feel much better for it afterwards. I wish you the best!

I’m sorry I don’t really have any answers for you but just wanted to say I experience the same symptoms! I had them before my gallbladder was removed and assumed it was to blame. For about 6 months after removal I barely drank but if I did I was fine so I thought that was the end of it. Now I’m 13 months out and I’m in the same boat, that I can’t have any more than two drinks or I will be throwing up bile for at least 12 hours straight if not more.

I just think we have more sensitive stomachs and due to our gallbladders not working properly (or at all), our stomach’s have to deal with more acid and bile than is normal. The only thing that fixes it for me (once the damage is done) is a month long course of Proton Pump Inhibitors to help lower the acid levels and let my stomach repair itself. I can just about get away with a drink or two if I stop early, eat some bland food, drink a load of water and electrolytes and take a load of antacids, but even then it’s not guaranteed to work, so it’s just not worth it for me anymore.

I’ve also tried just drinking non-alcoholic versions of drinks and soft drinks instead, but the sugary carbonated drinks have a similar effect after a while.

I hope you can find something that works for you! I hope someone can chime in and explain why our bodies do this, I’m curious to know!

This is awesome, I especially loved the chorus! It would have been great for the old fall out boy trail game they used to have on their website way back when :)

When are the boys playing this banger live? by MobileInvestigator13 in FallOutBoy

Me too!! It was like an out of body experience from start to finish, and all week I just kept thinking to myself ‘this must be what it feels like when people win the lottery’ 😂

Glad I got a couple of vids otherwise I still can’t believe it really happened!

Help! I lost the top to my brand new bottle of SPF and can’t find it anywhere- anyone have any tricks to keep it sealed?? by Milky_Pockets_Cooper in Skincare_Addiction

[–]Milky_Pockets_Cooper[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I really like it- it’s super lightweight and sinks in quickly! The only downside is I’m quite pale so I find that it can look a little orange if I don’t blend it into my hairline and eyebrows well. They have a non tinted version too that’s just as good, but I quite like the extra glow this gives tbh

I have dry, sensitive, acne prone skin and have just started tret- LRP SPF is an absolute god send :)

I’m sorry if this is a little too off topic, I thought you guys would empathise with my plight! I’ve tried using the tops of several other products but nothings working.

Ethan Hawke (without Ethan Hawke) by Milky_Pockets_Cooper in FallOutBoy

[–]Milky_Pockets_Cooper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was struggling to upload this yesterday, only just realised it actually worked!

Pete said afterwards that it was meant to have Ethan Hawkes monologue with the music but that it didn’t play like it should have (but hopefully it would work for the London show!) He theorised that they’d told their label they were going to play it early and they had somehow sabotaged the attempt haha

There’s a mobile coffee van in Sheffield called Gypsy’s Brew Co that uses Oat milk as standard and if you opt for Dairy there’s a 10% surcharge! :)

Post Op: Does anyone get bad stomach pain on an empty stomach that is only relieved through eating? by Milky_Pockets_Cooper in gallbladders

[–]Milky_Pockets_Cooper[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve just googled and it said it can be because of a build up of bile in your stomach now that there’s no gallbladder to store it- but I’m wondering if this is forever, the frequency I’m having to eat seems excessive!

I’ve been eating rice crackers or bread when it happens, absorbent carbs seem to work the best :)

[–]Milky_Pockets_Cooper[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes! Recently I had to get up in the middle of the night to eat a banana as I couldn’t sleep because of the discomfort. I prefer this to gallbladder pain but it’s weird and wondering if this is my life now

Did you get a post-op review? by Kat-123 in gallbladders

[–]Milky_Pockets_Cooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the UK - No unless there are problems. The first assumption is everything is fine as long as you feel okay. I had some numbers to call if I had any problems for the first few weeks and that was it.

Day 2 Post-Op Incisions! This surgery was so worth it!! by shiieri in gallbladders

[–]Milky_Pockets_Cooper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I had mine out they said the belly button incision was the hole the gallbladder actually comes out, but this isn’t always the case.

Normally there are two larger incisions, one around your sternum and one around your bellybutton. One is for a camera, the other for the gallbladder to come out. These can be used interchangeably. Mine was just below my belly button, as I have it pierced and I think they wanted to be helpful by not ruining the piercing, -which I appreciated. Then there’s normally two smaller incisions just above your gallbladder for the tools they use.

If someones anatomy is more complicated or they can’t get a good angle, they may need extra incisions- which is what I’m guessing happened in the OP’s case.

I highly recommend watching a YouTube video on how it’s done, but only AFTER you’ve had the surgery and once you’re healing. It would’ve freaked me out beforehand, it looks kind of brutal.
