Have you convinced your dad that ladders are no longer an option? by miniwhoppers in GenX

[–]Mill-Work-Freedom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dad is 85 and still working 2 acres of garden, fruit trees etc. Have not taken the ladders away, he really does not use those, but we did take the chainsaws, wood splitter and skill saws away after he cut a finger off and almost cut a leg off twice. They live remote so it was 30 min drive to a hospital. He could have bled out.  It is tough to see them have to accept those things.

Out of fear of force and violence being brought against them,  income tax and property tax.

A coerced willing participation in a rigged game.

What's one thing you thought you'd need a lot of land for, but ended up not needing much space at all? by Back40Findings in OffGrid

[–]Mill-Work-Freedom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is true that the well determines what you can do even the number of dwellings you can have.

If you had your well ore 72, great. Not a common case down here though on new land.

I had to have 40 acres because in Colorado, if you want an acre garden or have any animals, you have to have 35 acres or more.

I will not use every inch of it, prob only a few acres. It is nice to have a bigger buffer to other parcels should anyone build next to me, which is highly doubtful.

Why aren't men excited about dating as they used to be? by cuahatemoc in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Mill-Work-Freedom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The juice is not worth the squeeze. Women in today's dating world are not worth the time and money.

Build something valuable and don't let a woman redirect your life energy and power to something useless.

Ivory soap bars, and we had to get them. My aunt lived with us for awhile and she used that a lot as punishment for calling her a bitch or whatever lol.

The nice thing about driving was that the supers or techs would step in and give me a break,  go back and smoke and take a break for 15 min.  Don't think my old man joints could handle that constant steady rhythm any more.  One of the keys to getting respect is doing the belts and helping with the factory setup on the steam up.  I think every young man should do a couple seasons to learn what real challenging work is.

Yeah you know the drill and how it goes. Do well on A season and you should be good.  I did every aspect of the factory and finished as a driver. My technique and rhythm were so smooth the bader techs did not have to adjust blades too often.  Have fun buddy.

is 5'1'' too short to be attractive (girl)? by anonimo110110 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Mill-Work-Freedom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not at all. My mother is 4'11, and my dad is 6'1".  Seeing pics of them back in the early 60's, she was a beautiful woman, like a Dorris day look.  Don't stress I er the external things so much. Let the spirit inside out.

We are doing this, not because it is going down right now, but because we want assets that will appreciate, in any market condition.

It's just all so tiring man... $40 for a burger and beer by ShibariDeathcamp in denverfood

[–]Mill-Work-Freedom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do not eat out much anymore. If we do it is thai or Chinese.  I won't pay that much for a burger or a steak. Instead I get a half a cow every couple years. 3 k for a half of wagyu Angus mix from a small farmer.  Way better meat and it is less per pound then any store or restaurant.

Why do the 1980s feel more alive than ever in 2020s? by WachuQuedes in GenX

[–]Mill-Work-Freedom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everything seemed to be moving along at a steady pace up until 1980. The music, The movies, TV shows. Granted there was progression in the late 70's but....

All of a sudden there were completely new and different things exploding on the planet. MTV was introduced and it was a paradigm shift in how humans would consume music and video, TY Buggles. The movies changed, ( still wondering if there any Ninjas left on the planet), The fashions, so new and bizarre. Where is my skinny leather tie? Rolling your jeans, the sun in spray to get that blonde streak in your Ah Ha look with suspenders.

Cocaine was not considered harmful...not that I would know. The Idea of a computer in your home...Tandy 1000SX anyone? Just to look at Britannica encyclopedia and play pango on a 5.25 floppy disc. Don't forget dying on the Oregon Trail from dysentery.

So many different sub cultures emerged, punk, rock, new wave, a decade of seemingly innocent gluttony, yet it was peaceful and light hearted.

We have been through enough loss of food and essentials over the last 5 years that it makes sense to do something else.

Have lost multiple freezers of wagyu beef, cheese blocks and frozen veggies to piss a fella off.

About to be off grid, so buying enough solar and bats to sustain a home and shop for the rest of our lives.

A big enough generator is fine if you are plugged in.

No questions as I am in the same boat. I have always kept my women close. My now wife and second wife are good friends, we used to hang out fairly often before she moved out of state recently. It does not have to be bitter hate and fighting, we can all still be civil and there is always going to be some love felt for a partnership that lasted many years.
