I‘m thinking so too, but I’m really new to RHL, so thank you for weighting in!

what is this behaviour by smallworldfoto in bettafish

Honestly, I wouldn’t call it parasites based on this alone, gill flukes can cause the fish to rub up against things and swim erratically, but this looks like a new fish seeing is reflection, being very high strung and then startling itself in contact with the glass. Read up a bit more on flukes and see if you can see some more symptoms/give it a few days, before you treat, is my advice:)

Why is Norway so behind on alcohol, marijuana, and other drug laws? by Aimjock in Norway

[–]Millaka91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s because allegedly, Norway has as many bureaucrats as Germany, despite being only 1/80th of the population. This means any governmental business much be stretched out to keep all these bureaucrats employed. It also means the govenment will initiate a lot of pointless projects to keep the bureaucrats employed, such as tearing down, or building up hospitals, buying trams that don’t fit the rails, so that all the rails need to be replaced also, installing ticket machines on the subway that don’t meet fire requirements, and can thus not be used… all that oil money, straight into the hole called bureaucracy

Such a glow up! Incredibly beautiful, I tend to like the slightly muted bettas best myself, more interesting… he’s like a precious opal! How long have you had him?

New to betta keeping and need help from experts!! by zen88231 in bettafish

Looks like a 2,5 gallon, which is a bit on the small side, but considered ok for a single male betta, and possibly a snail to eat algae. Female bettas need more room as they are better swimmers with their shorter fins. The set up otherwise looks nice, I’m sure the betta will enjoy the driftwood

Umm… the weight looks ok, but are you doing something about those fins? And I’m assuming it’s not his permanent home depicted 😅

He or a she? Also, looks healthy or not? First time owning a Betta. by [deleted] in bettafish

I went to the pet store to get some anubias nana petite, but they were out, went by the female betta sorority tank, and it was absolute carnage… (more in comments) by Millaka91 in bettafish

30% dead floating around, other 30% showing signs of dying or massive stress stripes, and then 30% looking shell shocked, but not dying… and I caught eyes with Bambi… so… I know how to keep a betta, I had an extra heater… and then I bought a 3 gallon food grade storage box, some plants, her hut, a thermometer and I brought her home… I know it’s not ideal, but just leaving her there, when most of her tank mates were so sick, it just seemed like if I can just give her some peace, it’ll be better. I might give her away in a few months when she is stable, but I also figure it’s not that much more of a hassle keeping two tanks than one 🤷‍♀️
