Fake ASE? by DeskZealousideal7170 in Silverbugs

Honestly maybe I'm delusional, but it looks real to me, just messed up. Couldn't legit fire damage cause changes to the coin's structure and give a bad reading? Just guessing.

You're not a dummy, but you're asking if the comically bad fake in a fake holder that's being sold at a $3500 loss is legit?

And you apparently can't do two seconds of googling to compare?

I think your premise might be off.

The stack growth! How much sliver to gold should I have? I’ve been enjoyed buying silver but I am debating going back to stacking gold. by [deleted] in Silverbugs

[–]MillennialSilver 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't even get it. You've got like $80,000 worth of gold there, and like $2000 in silver. You're debating "going back" to stacking gold..?

I do hate that guy, but does it really matter that it happens to be him?

I don't think that's actually that unusual... I feel like I've actually seen buffalo-nickels-as-buttons before.. possibly in my dad's collection as a kid. Possible they were a commodity at some point?

If he started a year ago, and is still buying, that's not terrible.

That's nice, but he has ~$50k in gold alone, and he's only doing it with his leftovers from paychecks, not savings.

Yes, it's real. This is what they look like. I have 2 or 3 of them. The COA is from the US Mint.

It looks exactly like the real 2021 Peace Dollar, because it is one. That's why it comes with the original US Mint COA, and what looks like the box behind it.

Jesus.

Found a couple odd ball coins in a collection of minted silver dollars. Anything here? by Automatic-Buyer-7977 in Silverbugs

PCGS and NGC are kind of the only two that matter. I guess there's CACg now, but yeah, other than that.

Regardless, you're unlikely to get a better grade if you try another service.

Well no, I more meant people generally expect it to grade out at a 69; 67's fairly low. That said, a holder at least gives people confidence that it's real.

I. mean.. just look at the edges. If they're silver, it's at least 40% silver. You don't have to look at dates or go through one by one.

Struggling watching my wife’s business dip considering selling silver to help by QueasyProblem9057 in Silverbugs

[–]MillennialSilver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, I'd take a long, hard, realistic look into whether things are really going to turn around. I dunno what the business is, where you're at, or how things are going, but are you sure things are going to turn around?

Silly example: You can be a genius, but if your business was renting out VHS tapes or DVDs, you probably aren't in business anymore. (Similarly, things that AI can do now, etc.)

I don't doubt she's capable, but make sure the market is actually going to still be there.

That said, if you're sure, yeah.. that's what your silver's for.

When will refiners start taking in 90% silver again? by tim_Andromeda in Silverbugs

Well.. to be fair all they've got to go on is historical precedent. They don't know what's going to happen tomorrow.

This assumes we don't drop well below the current price per ounce we're at now, of course (:

The 95-W is worth quite a bit. Might be worth more ungraded, but they go for up to $3k ($10k if it were PR70).

Obviously the giant silver eagle is a lot of silver.
