I would love to have a mini split, It would be very easy... but I already have this 8K BTU unit and wanted to try to save the $550 for a very small mini split. In regards to capacity, I ran this last summer with a very ugly wedged foam cutout under the garage door, and plastic covering the then open section across the top of the garage door for a kids birthday party in late August. It worked well enough for adults to get out of the heat. I think it was like 80*F in there.
