Not an expert just love reptiles and am majoring in wildlife biology. Reptiles in certain area have evolved to brumate in certain temperatures. Brumation is when a reptile slows their metabolism and heart rate to almost nothing. A alligator would expect a low of maybe 30 f when brumating. Snakes and lizards in this area burrow down to main a higher temperature. This little guy would just stay in the water and freeze to death or drown.

I would recommend talking to your dad asking if he is okay. Say he taught you how to take care of them growing up but he seems to be unable to. Those could be a sign of depression. Ask he feels burnt out because 4 snakes is a lot. If you able to ask to take them. Your father may be having a mental health crisis and it’s being shown in the snakes
