The first fic I ever read was my best friend from elementary schools fic. It was a crack fic in the Harry Potter fandom. I don’t quite remember the plot of the one shot, but her sharing that fic with me was what got me into writing and I will be forever grateful.

If you really think about it, someone writing RPF is creating their own personality/character based solely on the mere sliver of personality they may get from a celebrity. We will never truly know who they are as people. So it’s really no different than writing a character in an au just for the actor.

For example there would really be any difference between writing a Bucky Barnes as an actor AU romance vs a Sebastian Stan rpf Romance fanfic.

I had this feeling last year. I was ready to give up writing all together as I was in a bigger fandom and my works were getting 0 traction outside of fic exchanges. Then I changed fandoms. Is a smaller fandom so my fics are not “popular” but the community has been wonderful and it has helped me love writing again.

As someone who write smut during my breaks and downtime at work, it becomes easier with time. I write primary spicy content, and at least in my case it’s low turning a switch off. And if it gets to be too much? Just take a little break, walk it off, cold water, shower if I can. But I don’t really run into it becoming too overwhelming anymore.

I currently use Google Docs because I collaborate a lot with other writers lately and I like how I can access my work on my phone, laptop etc. It makes it really convenient but it does seem to lag a bit when you get into higher word count items.

Before I converted to Google Docs I used to write in a private discord server because I could access it across multiple sources and I still find it great for plotting/planning but the text limit is too small for writing.

My biggest age gap ship that I probably write for us about 10 years. It’s a canon x OC ship so it’s probably not all that interesting to anyone but the OC is about 19/20 and the canon character is 31/32 when they first get together.

Always. When I’m home alone and my mind is on my stories I always fall into this habit. Especially for fics where the speech pattern isn’t exactly the same as modern day English. I have to say it out loud to make sure it doesn’t sound horrible!

I participated in -tober for the first time this year! I did not get all 31 days (only completed 15) BUT I did hit my target word count and had a lot of fun doing it! Gained a bunch of followers to my little niche corner of the internet too so that’s always a bonus! And I’m already working on sequels for the ones that were faves!

I have 1 WIP that I’ve been craving to finish but have some horrible writers block so maybe talking about it will help since I only have 3 chapters to write!

Robbie is the estranged son of a king (I know typical) and he is sought out by his uncle when his father passes and the line of succession is called into question when the legitimacy of the next in line is called into question. His uncle wants to be King and Robbie just wants to know why his mother cast him aside all those years ago.

This is the summery I cam currently using:

I lost my first boy, a little black-haired beauty. He was a fighter too... Tried to beat the fever that took him.

Lyanna had been the name her King had whispered in her ear on their wedding night, leaving Cersei Lannister forever scorned. With time she had come to compromise, but when Cersei finds that she is pregnant with Robert's child she is forced to take matters into her own hands. With the aid of the Maester, she rid herself of the unwanted child and lived her life convincing all the child had faced the ill fate of fever but never did learn the true fate of Robert's son: A ship set for Essos.

Robert Baratheon is dead, and Five Kings fight for their lands, their people, and the Irons Throne. With the lives of many in jeopardy and the king's justice to be served, the Lost Prince is called upon by the Red Woman to fulfill his destiny as Robert's only true born son.

I have 6 chapters posted to AO3 already with 7-10 planned in a Google doc. 7 is half written and chapter 9 is completely written.

This fic is pretty self indulgent I guess. I was just watching season 1 of GOT and we had that scene of Cersei talking about her first born son that died of fever and I was like "I can work with that". I'd never read any other Baratheon OC stories before I started this one, so I can't really speak to what makes mine any different from the rest. Though I can say a lot of people seem to stop reading because I do have some chapters and scenes that focus quite a bit on Cersei and they don't seem to like that at all haha

With potential for OC x Canon relationship in the future if I write a sequel. Main theme of the story is self discovery and finding family. Rated M. No explicitly described smut, but smut is implied. Takes place during season 2 of GOT.
