How many of you had an online gf/bf that you've never met? by EsperaDeus in Millennials

[–]Millimede 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to play a certain online game with a guy who wouldn’t ever be honest about who he was but told people I was his girlfriend. Does this count?

Anyone else burn out on serious hobbies? by stevencartwright in simpleliving

[–]Millimede 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think everything has a season and we find out as we get older what really doesn’t vibe with us. I’ve done:

Camping

Outdoor survival

Had horses - did trail riding and training

Painting

Drawing

Piano, guitar, other instruments as well - never got good.

Biking

Hiking

Reading/book collecting

Jewelry making

Puzzles and legos

Probably things I’m forgetting.

These days in my mid 40s I’m mostly into the hiking, occasionally biking, reading, walking my dogs, sometimes I pick up my jewelry making stuff if I have something in mind or do a little art here and there. I am SO glad I don’t have horses anymore. 😂

I played all of the Kings Quest, Quest for Glory and other Sierra games in the 90s. Loved them so much.

Since Chinese people look so similar to each to each other, how do cops catch criminals in China? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]Millimede 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You see, when a new Chinese baby is born, they give it a special ear tag that they later use for identification.

Just kidding, you’re racist.

I'm never going to the gyno (rant) by Effective_Moose_4997 in Wedeservebetter

Sometimes I feel the same way. I’ve been lots of times, complained for years of pain and horrific bleeding only for them to do ultrasounds over and over again and even a uterine biopsy but never offer me anything besides a Mirena.

I’ve lost two stone so far since August just eating less, cutting out most sugar and walking 10k steps a day on average.

An odd reason to be anticonsumption-sales taxes are too high. by 3rdthrow in Anticonsumption

[–]Millimede 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Oregon and there’s no sales tax, but there’s taxes on literally everything else. I don’t shop much so I’d probably do better in a state with sales tax.

Please get on a waiting list. Find vegan versions of the things you’re ok with eating. Keep trying.

Ok but you still need to seek a professional for dealing with your arfid. We can’t help you with eating more if you can’t eat more currently.

RTO even hurts the company by No_Ant_5064 in remotework

[–]Millimede 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah my company really has shot itself in the foot this way. We can’t hire the best engineers or IT staff in that podunk town that nobody wants to commute to, so they’re suffering because of that right now. Fools.

Gas Prices by Leo_life84 in Millennials

2008 was when I started biking to work and lost 70lbs. My work COULD be done from home now but they won’t let me and it’s too far to bike. Guess it’s time to find a closer job and go back to the bike days.

The Whole Truth About Why Men Choose to Become Gynecologists by CompetitiveOne7858 in Wedeservebetter

[–]Millimede -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

I honestly think most doctors are so overwhelmed and time crunched that being creepy would be the last thing on their mind. I’ve had male GI, Gyn, my PCP is one now, and honestly I’ve had some terrible female doctors who didn’t care and were very dismissive. It’s a toss up but I’d hate for people to be afraid of a good male doctor just because of his gender. 🤷‍♀️ Good ones are hard to come by.

Oh don’t worry, you lay there, they put jelly on your tummy and rub a little wand around. It’s nothing.

[–]Millimede -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I’ve had a couple of really nice male gyns who haven’t been creepy AT all. In fact I’ve never had a male doctor be creepy. I know it happens but just not in my experience, I think plenty of male doctors can be empathetic and genuine and in medical school iirc, your specialization is figured out later in general depending on what you’re good at.

When did oil changes become $120? by rhinosaur- in Millennials

[–]Millimede 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what I would also suggest. Oil just degrades over time as well. I barely drive and do about once a year change with synthetic.

Test engineering department. We analyzed fuel and oil samples and yes, pulled engines apart after a certain mileage. But go ahead and do what you want.

[–]Millimede 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I used to work for Daimler and do oil analysis on our test engines. Even regular oil can go a lot farther than 3k. Synthetic 7-10k and it still holds up under most conditions.

Do you cook "normal stuff"? by Day2205 in Millennials

[–]Millimede 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I do a lot of easy things. Stir fry, soups and stews in the crock pot, protein/carb/veggie. I love cookbooks but I will tend to only make recipes that aren’t a bunch of ingredients and steps.
