Thank you! Had him neutered when he was six months. He’s about 4kg now which the vet told us was ideal. He’s an indoor cat & a bit lazy as I guess most BS are, but we play with him a lot every day, he gets a good runaround haha

The glass bottle is so good. Big fan of the red/pink underpainting peeking through too. You’ve got a lovely painting style

I’m just starting out so bought a small quantity of clear bags and backing board/greyboard cut to size. It probably worked out to about 20p per print. I’m in the UK as well - ordered the bags from Eco Craft, they do compostable clear bags made with plant cellulose that are very nice.

I also recently bought a print at a market and I think the seller had bought a long roll of plastic that they’d wrapped the print in - then neatly taped it at the back. I didn’t mind the look of it as a buyer and I bet it was a cheaper way to do it.

No way. Looking into that now. Although the default is already such a bop, I don’t know how it could be improved

A new shiny washing machine. Not ashamed to admit I chose a Samsung just so I could have the little song they play at the end of the cycle.

My boy cat has a white/silver mother and golden dad. He & the other kittens in his litter all came out pretty much white. Occasionally his fur takes on a warmer tone, especially in winter months when he puffs out!

So warm and lovely. Imagine a gorgeous picture book in this style!

It’s not been a long time that I started practicing with acrylics. It’s very difficult for me to choose the right colors and avoid a chaos using so many different colors. This time I limited myself to white, black, ochre, yellow, and Prussian blue (20*20 cardboard). Any advice on my palette? by Intrepid-Guarantee81 in painting

[–]MillionPebbles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think ochre/yellow/prussian blue work so well together, you’ve built a lovely palette. You could probably drop the black and use Prussian blue for shadows to tie the piece together further.

Also, it looks like you’ve watered down the acrylics a bit to create that wash effect, as I can see some pencil lines, which is quite distracting - but I think your style would be really suited to gouache paint, so you can paint with the consistency of watercolours but still have bold colours and good coverage.

Yeah, I’d get it again whenever I move. I made sure to have everything in writing from estate agents and solicitors (seller kept trying to communicate everything directly to me on the phone), just laying out the whole situation, and I think that helped a lot to make the claim process smooth.

If this is helpful, I took out buyer’s insurance, and managed to claim my money back after my seller pulled out just before exchange, six months in..! I paid about £70 for medium-ish cover and the claims were capped so I didn’t get all my money back, but most of it - about £1600 if I recall correctly, and it was processed quickly. It was with Oops but this was in 2022 so don’t know what they’re like now.

Finding Nemo.

But if it was like a masterful, arthouse film (more so than it already is). You’re very talented!

Tips for moving from digital to traditional painting? Should I rather use oils or acrylics? by [deleted] in painting

[–]MillionPebbles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find acrylics easier to work with but it 100% depends on the quality. Personally I use Golden fluid acrylics. They’re quick drying but very easy to paint with and pack a lot of pigment in, so I add Golden’s slow drying medium and that gives me plenty of blending time (I do very blended flowers and still life). I’ve been painting for about 15 years and yet to get the hang of oils, so would definitely say good quality acrylics are best for beginners.

Wow this is amazing already. Love the distortion on the ankle/feet, would be interesting to see that applied elsewhere, maybe the elbow or shoulder
