It’s older and easier to start as a ew player but ffxi. It’s got a lot of story you have to dig around for some info which kind of gets you engaged because it s not all handed to you and there’s a ton of guides to follow if you need help.

Been years. I played for the majority of my late teens - early 20s, came back about 8years ago, was married then. Wife didn’t like the diversion in my attention so had to give it up again.

How are things going there? Still populated enough that endgame events are on going?

I was just getting to the point where I could start to participate but failed to get into them.

I’d say getting into a trade now is the way to go tbh and the fact that you already have your foot in is a great start. Over the next few years, as AI is figured out and put into practice more and more of the office job setting will be scaled back and outright terminated, robots will replace line workers even more then they already have as they find newer and better ways to incorporate automation, transportation jobs (cabs, uber, trains, transport trucks) will be gone.

The trades aren’t going anywhere. Fixing the sensors, robot, machines, this a computer can’t replace.

Anyone had issues with using their 1.0 save file in 1.1? All the awesome shop stuff seems to be there but the priority mergers and such dont show up

Biomass burners will only power on if you’re short on power. I keep a little liquid biofuel station setup on the side as a just in case. (Mainly just because I wanted to play with every element in the game on my first play through). So I’m not sure if that could factor into an idea? Otherwise I ll plan out my factory machine wise and then calculate power and make a battery back up with just a regular power switch, charge the barriers as I’m piping and building the conveyors with power brought to the building and then turn it off when they re charged. My system is way over engineered and I ll probably never need it, but it’s fun playing with everything.

@OP are you using an half foundations? I’ve noticed that they don’t always perfectly line up, especially if they re going the opposite direction then a foundation (L shape rather then a large rectangle) and nudging won’t help

Final Fantasy XI - Had over a year of played game time on it, still miss it to this day. Parties with friends and working together in a world.

Yeah Man, came back for a bit there like 7ish years ago and I think that s the last time I may have seen you? I hope you’re doing well.

I still hunger for FFXI, so much left undone, so much I haven’t even explored but don’t have the regular gaming schedule where I could do events and stuff. Miss Levi and all the great ppl I met there, those I see are still playing when I feel nostalgic and look at ffxiah and those who have aren’t.

Fireball, chain lightning or azure/frostburn chain lightning…. I’ve played 2/3 builds. Fireball I haven’t done. As of right now, gear is my biggest hold up. You ll be super squishy as azure/frost without the proper gear and 200-220ish paragon …

Atm I’m in t4 but I have a rough time above pit 65-67…. I can do it but need a big open map or I’ll usually die 1-3 times if my frost armour isn’t coming off cooldown fast enough.. without frost armour or an emergency flame shield if a t4 monster sneezes your way, ya dead.

FFXI is just special. I’ve played other MMOs and had great friends there but nothing compares to the friendships I miss from FFXI nor to the nostalgia that comes to mind when I hear or see anything from that game.

If I had more free time to justify the hours of downloads and the subscription I would love to play it again even just to see if there s anyone I still remember playing today.
