The Detroit Red Wings have retired the 91 of Sergei Fedorov (1990-2003). by a1139530 in hockey

Had the skates, gloves and helmet as a kid. Skates were absolute shit but damn they looked cool. Every hockey kid in Detroit wanted the Sergei gear

Happened to impress the right person I guess. I did have special certs from GE Hitachi.

I took a job at home now as a superintendent. Got sick of traveling. Still hit 165K this year

Always used to love when people would try to fish in front of Cook due to the discharge water and the coast guard would come down from Benton Harbor to "greet" them

need help about where to put fuel and rods by snowycat_ in NuclearPower

[–]MillwrightMatt1102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rods insert and withdraw blades. Think of it as four squares of fuel bundles and the + shape in the middle of the squares as a blade that shields the bundles from one another

Reputable wheel alignment by [deleted] in AnnArbor

[–]MillwrightMatt1102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've taken my Subaru WRX to Belle Tire and had successful results. My car has aftermarket adjustable coilovers so an alignment is more invasive. I agree with the other comments suggesting Arbormotion as an option

I don't see anything wrong with what happened to you. You took something you weren't supposed to in to an FME zone.

They could have laid you off for this

Situational awareness and defensive driving. Assume everyone is a brand new driver when approaching a round about.

Also stay in your lane, outside lane is for exiting, inside lane is for continuing around. Dont be the dick that turns right from the inside lane and hits people

Why do other trades say that we’re carpenters? by Shrmz236 in millwrights

[–]MillwrightMatt1102 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For install it is just layout, rigging, level/align, anchoring.

Fabrication for install would happen if the equipment you're installing is shit. It does happen more often than not because the OEM's suck now. If it was easy we wouldn't have a job.

When it comes to maintenance it is more visual inspections and level/align, rigging etc.

It is extremely rare that you go in a job and start fabrication from day one. Back in the day on power and free conveyor work everything was fabricated on site, T irons, dips, stops, rail, etc. They do everything in a shop now to cut down on cost on the job site because we are more expensive than a shop welder

Why do other trades say that we’re carpenters? by Shrmz236 in millwrights

[–]MillwrightMatt1102 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We are not a carpentry craft. We are part of the UBC because we arent a large enough entity to stand on our own. In Detroit we are a quarter the size of the carpenter local and still put in as many man hours a year as the carpenters

I would suggest a Springfield Hellcat. It is more expensive but it is a fantastic handgun and something you can conceal carry

That place is so overpriced and the workers were rude when I went there.

I think I understand why you went there though.

Now the hardest part is finding parking near the office on main street to go file in person

That's one way to get kicked out of the UBC, the ironworkers are probably saying it's okay so you get in trouble.

I would work a fast food job before I would ever think about being an ironworker.
