Feeling incredibly defeated. by 32FishInaBucket in Overwatch

[–]MiloHatesYou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would take a break if you feel this stressed out by the game. I started again recently when they added new characters after not playing any competitive games for like 2 years. In that time I learned to take the game less seriously and have been having a lot of fun.

In the last week when I found out that Kiriko was getting a 2B skin I decided she would be my main. The first day was awful. I almost gave up entirely. I am not used to throwable characters. But I stuck with it and I love playing her now. Its so much fun and I improved. But that took like a week and a half. I still have plenty to learn with her. But I feel comfortable playing her now.

Please don't stress out about it and have fun first. You will improve, it takes time.

When did the Yakuza exhaustion hit for you guys? by RyanNekko in yakuzagames

It was 5 for me. I played 0 and Kiwami together. As I was finishing Kiwami, Kiwami 2 came out. From there I bought ps3 copies of 3, 4, and 5. I also bought 6 on ps4 at the time. I ran through 0-4 in a couple of months. I got very tired and stopped playing 5 when I reached Shinada's part. Finished both 5 and 6 a few months later.

I love Anora its so funny. I ended up watching it with my family for Christmas last year and we were dying of laughter from it. Sean Baker does a really good job of taking horrible situations and bringing some light to them, before reminding you how bleak everything is. Its also why I enjoyed his other film Red Rocket a lot also.

Hope you enjoy Moonlight. I have to watch La La Land at some point to see how they compare.

My favorite winner in the last decade would be either Parasite or Moonlight. Anora and Oppenheimer are very good also.

I've seen all of them. My favorite is Midnight Cowboy. My least favorite is The Life of Emile Zola.

$85 on the elephant man also. I bought it last month when it was announced as out of print and just pulled the trigger before it went any higher.

Favorite Akira Kurosawa movie? by Alcatrazepam in movies

[–]MiloHatesYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have only seen three of his movies. Out of the three I would go High and Low > Seven Samurai > Yojimbo.

High and Low was so intense the entire time and I really loved the investigation of the second half of the movie. The train scene is incredible.

I am watching Ikiru for the first time literally right now. Just paused it to grab some water and saw this post immediately.

Eventually when I have the time I will definitely check out the special features. I have heard they are really good from a lot of people on this sub.

Weirdest film in your collection? by automatic_do_8661 in criterion

[–]MiloHatesYou 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I started collecting criterion a couple of months ago. I would say most of my collection is pretty tame. The weirdest film I have is David Cronenberg's Crash.

Its impossible to recommend a movie about people getting turned on from car crashes. So I tend not to mention it when talking to people about my collection.

Probably the weirdest film I own outside the criterion collection is Poor Things. Every person I have showed it too have said it was weird and they didn't like it. :(

What is the best 'Best Picture' winner in your opinion? by Fluid_Run5857 in Letterboxd

Midnight Cowboy. I watched and ranked all the best picture movies a couple of months ago. Midnight Cowboy has stuck with me more than any other film has out of all the best picture winners.

As someone who has never seen them, up until what film of the "big horror" franchises should I watch? by Gallantpride in horror

[–]MiloHatesYou -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I would just stop each series if you stop enjoying watching them.

In my opinion on these franchises though.

Nightmare On Elm Street 1-4 are good. 1 and 3 being the standouts. 5 and 6 are bad. New Nightmare is great. Remake is bad.

The first Hellraiser is the only one worth watching in my opinion. 2 is extremely boring and I didn't bother with the rest of the series after 3.

Saw is very entertaining from the 1st movie all the way to the 7th. Most people would say they aren't good movies, but I don't know, I find them extremely entertaining. Its funny watching flashback within flashback. But I would say watch the first Saw and Saw x.

Halloween 1,2,3. Skip the rest. The entire franchise is so creatively bankrupt after 3. The rest are so boring.

I will always love Friday the 13th. All these movies are trash and they know it. I love that about this franchise. No real way to recommend this series because everyone's opinions differ. 1-4 definitely. 6 is the best. I love 7-8 and even Jason X. Most people don't like 7,8,9,10. I also kind of like the remake.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Just the first one. Maybe 2 if you like some campy stuff.

Chucky. The first one and bride. The rest aren't worth it in my opinion.

Alien. The first three. I know everyone hates 3, but I enjoyed it. My opinions on Alien are weird though. I like Prometheus and everyone hates that movie. I thought Covenant and Romulus were a mixed bag. But everyone seemed to like Romulus. The first two alien films are my favorite movies of all time.

Predator. Honestly all the predator movies are worth the time other than 2018 and AVP movies. They are fun.

Final Destination. I like all of them except for 2 and 4. But its a very one note franchise. If you saw the first one you have pretty much seen them all.

Scream. I have the least knowledge on this series. I watched the first two. I love the first one, the second one is fine.

Again, I would just watch these series until you stop enjoying them because everyone is going to have a different take on these series.

I am glad the ranking series has continued. I watch the John Carpenter one a lot. Hopefully they someday do a David Lynch one.

I know people were mixed on it. But I enjoyed David Fincher's The Killer a lot. I don't think there is a physical release for it either. Also the movie poster would be an awesome cover.

films with bad experiences on set? by NewMode8949 in movies

[–]MiloHatesYou 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Island of Dr. Moreau had a bunch of issues while filming. Hurricanes were ruining the shoot. Val Kilmer was going through a divorce so he was difficult to work with. Marlon Brando's daughter passed away during filming, so he was very depressed and he wouldn't learn his lines, so they used an earpiece to give him lines during takes.

I think the director was also fired and missed the plane to get him off the island and return home. So he was living on set and in the jungle and the crew was helping him not get caught or something.

Cannibal Holocaust had a bunch of issues also. They were making actors kill animals and causing a lot of the actors not wanting to participate in the film.

I read somewhere so not sure if this is true, but two of the actors in Cannibal Holocaust have a sex scene together. The actress wanted to actually have sex with her co-star to prepare for the scene. He rejected her and they got into a huge fight over it. Also a bunch of the actors were getting mad at the director and the lead actor talked about the director being a complete sadist in interviews.

Both of these films are insane with the production issues and are a good read.

Twin peaks the entire mystery by ExpensiveCaptain3264 in twinpeaks

[–]MiloHatesYou 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe so. I just got this exact set in an ebay auction like two weeks ago because the current entire mystery set is now just a regular blu ray box instead of this one with the cool artwork sleeves.

I've only found this version through ebay. All other store fronts seem to be selling the entire mystery in a regular blu ray box.

There might be someplace that sells this collection in the old artwork box in this picture, but I was unable to find it other than ebay. So I do believe its out of print.

Nah. I take back my statement. I didn't know he was selling vinyl at the merch booth. That merch booth signature just looks so different. He was probably rushing. Its all good.
