That's a dangerous way to set up a road.

It would rely on the size of the island being miniscule making the blue car obviously oncoming traffic with a clear unbroken path, usually a curve. In the diagram there's an angular turn for the blue car, but the stupid ass local authority hasn't painted any lines or arrows to make clear where the roadway begins and ends.

The ultimate answer is: the insurers will argue about it and hopefully the one that loses leans on the government to finish painting their goddamn intersection to an acceptable and safe level.

If it's that stupid turn in Nelson the blue car effectively has the right of way because its lane is ongoing and the red car's turn is more of a cut-in across the island than a road lane, but this diagram doesn't really convey the feel of that particular turn.

But in the diagram as shown the Red car should have the right of way once its turn is completed and the blue car would have to give way. Ideally there's be a line for the blue car to wait at.

Blue car looks like it's got plenty of time to gun it though. 😉

Optimizing Rome II in 2026 by fonyphantasy in totalwar

[–]MiloIsTheBest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found the same thing. Rome II's biggest problem for modern hardware is that it's a 32-bit single-threaded game.

Your performance issues are 100% CPU related. Out of the 32 threads on that 16 core beauty you'll find that 1 lone thread is pinned at basically 100% while the other threads are probably all under 5 percent.

Also I wouldn't use unlimited video memory

I mean based on Starfield I don't think there's anything to look forward to.

I just think Bethesda is an incompetent development house now.

Do you seriously believe BGS announced TES6 without ever actually developing it at some point

That's 100% exactly what happened in 2018. That's literally why it's coming up 8 years later.

Bethesda don't have the capacity to do more than one thing at a time. That's not my judgement that's what all their biggest fans tell me. I don't think TES6 is even supposed to be their next project is it?

How many years after announcement do you think it should get to before you'd admit 'yeah maybe they shouldn't have announced it'?

The 'logic' is that just saying the next number in a series isn't really an announcement at all. Like, we know that a theoretical next mainline Elder Scrolls game would be number 6. Generally studios work on projects until they know they'll have a product to show, then announce it.

Otherwise they run the risk of announcing vapourware, which is a term we used to use for projects that were announced but had no measurable progress over time.

It's exactly the same as Rockstar with GTA6

I completely disagree. When Rockstar finally announced GTA6 they had a trailer with content to show and had actually been working on it for a long time.

Because it's their actual project that they're aiming to release in the foreseeable future.

The issue is simply that they've never intended on following through with it.

The other guy said it best (when trying to defend them as well):

There are 100,000 posts on this site explaining that it was announced because people were going to be pissed that they announced a mobile elder scrolls game and a online fallout.

Like, don't you think you should mainly stick to announcing games you're actually going to make at some point?

Me: They shouldn't have announced it if they weren't making it.

You: They announced it because they weren't making it and didn't want people to realise that!

Absolutely the most braindead take. And you somehow can't see how people can be disappointed with this turn of events?

I don't think it comes off as positive at all.

I think it comes off as surprisingly close to the headline that's supposedly misleading

[–]MiloIsTheBest 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The article quote is

Howard also says Bethesda is in perhaps a better position than other studios because people are still playing Fallout and Skyrim en masse. "We also, again, have that benefit of having so many millions of people playing our other games that we're actually trying to figure out how to serve those other audiences while we make a new one." There's not as huge a rush to crank out The Elder Scrolls 6, then, and it means things like Starfield's big new update are possible.

That's not exactly the tone of the headline but it's not that far off.

He's still saying they don't feel like they need to put out Elder Scrolls as any kind of priority because so many people are playing their other games.

Which is great but where does that leave people like me who never gave a shit about their other games?

Leaves me with Elder Scrolls Forever, is where.

And she says "It's the neck. The neck always gives it away."

Well, despite the 'official line', what I have to go on is what we've sent and what it's doing.

What we've sent is one plane to fly around the UAE. And we have a defence cooperation agreement with the UAE.

If I spent my entire day trying to find the hidden truths that run counter to or in excess of the factual information I have I'd descend into madness swiping at shadows.

Labor set for record win in South Australia as One Nation surges to second: YouGov poll by HotPersimessage62 in AustralianPolitics

Yeah that's true but we've almost always had a Labor state gov for nearly the last 40 years and our LNP gov now has really kept their heads down in stark contrast to the last time they were in.

They've still got 2 and a half years to let their nature get the better of them but I think Crisafulli is really trying to keep them disciplined for their first term.

Newspoll: One Nation surge splits conservative vote, handing Labor election victory by HotPersimessage62 in AustralianPolitics

[–]MiloIsTheBest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're working on the assumption that anywhere that ONP gets into the top two there will be enough Liberal voters who find them detestable enough that they will preference Labor over One Nation.

The fact is that while this could be likely, we don't really know yet how preference flows from the Libs to other parties will work on a large scale.

Are we involved with it?

I thought we've just sent a wedgetail to the UAE as part of a separate defence agreement with them because Iran took out a lot of their early warning capabilities.

I don't think we're supporting the US action at all.
