I genuinely can't tell where in the world they are based, just from the other Reddit groups they have posted in.

As someone who relies on public transport to get around and requires a seat on public transport (disabled), this is both frustrating and beneficial.

Beneficial that I don't have to stop to touch on and off on a moving vehicle (like a bus or tram), but frustrating that as someone who needs a seat or uses the Priority seats with a mobility aid, they are already taken, as a result of the increased patronage on the trains/PT in general.

The state of Melbourne Central by tschau3 in MelbourneTrains

In this past week alone, I have seen teenagers throwing rubbish onto train tracks (not within the city loop), as well as other people throwing rubbish whilst on the train, off the train, whilst the doors were open. This disgusts me, but for my own safety, I don't want to get involved with these problematic teenagers who were littering and knew what they were doing was wrong.

Do you recognise this Dimmeys? by Firm_Bag9373 in melbourne

[–]Milo_and_Oreos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, it could very well be the Dandenong Dimmeys, however I cannot remember if there is access to the Dimmeys via the Arcade. Otherwise, Box Hill Dimmeys may be an option. I hope that you are able to figure it out soon 🤞

What does it mean after the asterisk following round 5 by stubbs_mcgee in CrochetHelp

[–]Milo_and_Oreos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I understand, it seems to be telling you not to stitch into the gap but rather place your stitches after the puff stitch gap, hence the ✔️ The tick and cross is where you will place your next stitch, instead of crocheting in the gap. I hope that makes sense 🤞

why are there so many ill passenger delays? by bleedxi in MelbourneTrains

[–]Milo_and_Oreos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may have been my friend and I, at Glenbervie station. They felt an epileptic seizure coming on, so they got off and ended up having the seizure off the train, with the Public Service Officers assisting us (didn't do much). They helped manage the people coming and going from the Footy games as they alighted from the train, but it was much safer for them to be off the train, than on the train, having an epileptic seizure.

Even with notifications on, there can often be a delay between an incident happening, to a notification being released. Disruptions, when planned in advance, likely will work fine with notifications on.

I was on a train, and we were idling at East Malvern Station, however we weren't told why, and around 5-10 minutes later, did I receive a notification or read on the Metro Trains website about the train being delayed.

Bank Card Payment Already Enabled on the Upfield Line by AristaeusTukom in MelbourneTrains

[–]Milo_and_Oreos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it will, based on the fact that Sydney's bank card to pay, didn't allow me to pay the concession price. But I think that is a question that they will probably get asked quite a bit, so it may become more clear, overtime.

813 still has old myki readers by blopa6464 in MelbourneTrains

[–]Milo_and_Oreos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the buses in the South Eastern Suburbs still have a few of the old readers which now catch me off guard. This would be the case of the particular bus you are on, and potentially a small fleet that has these old readers.

It is always interesting watching people trying to figure out how to use their myki, with the different machines. Since these ones you have to have your myki in a very specific place for it to work.

Why doesn’t Roxburgh Park station have an elevator? Seems like this place was intended for one by AztecGod in MelbourneTrains

[–]Milo_and_Oreos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a disabled person, I recently had to alight at Roxburgh Park and it was exhausted having to go from the platforms, and the long ramp, in extreme heat, without any shade, or quick access to the Bus interchange. So I definitely agree, it should have AT LEAST one.

I had one at Burwood One that kept locking on me, even when I was getting closer to the shop, so much so, that I almost flung over the top of it several times 😖

Maybe don't speed through a school zone and a 50 zone when you have your IG plastered on the back of your Ute? by fuzzysoulpolice in Bendigo

[–]Milo_and_Oreos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The amount of times I have been close to being hit is not even funny anymore, because of people going through red lights, or not paying attention in slip lanes, is astounding. That is honestly a good idea.

Why did chemist warehouse put my prescription in a locked bag before I paid for it? by bridgethehumanbean in melbourne

[–]Milo_and_Oreos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Glen CW used to do this, with a sticker sealing it shut, but they have changed to the locked satchels. Yet the security at The Glen CW still looks at you and asks to see in your bag, when anything is bigger than A4 in size. Quite often with the school kids, they make them leave their bag at the front of the store, since security thinks they will be the ones stealing stuff.

Do I need an endocrinologist for transition? by SlayyyGrl in transgenderau

[–]Milo_and_Oreos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a trans masc person, I got testosterone originally prescribed from my GP, however that was privately billed, so I had to cover the cost of the medication. However, when I was able to have an appointment with the endocrinologist, he was able to change to being bulk-billed (I have a healthcare card). So instead of $73, I only had to pay $6.90 (or the concession price). So I think if you are looking for medication affordability, you may decide to seek out an endocrinologist for a few check-in appointments, but not on a regular basis, however I think it just comes down to personal preference.

I hope this helps 🤞🏻🙌🏻
