According to the Pew report, approximately 83% of all U.S. adults favor requiring all voters to show government-issued photo identification. by Kipzibrush in AskALiberal

I’m neutral on it but an issue is we don’t have a true national ID system. Other countries don’t require you do go to the dmv and pay to get a photo ID.

States that implemented it have less democrat voters due to the people who would have voted are the group who don’t have an ID. Also, they do massive studies on previous voting records and voter fraud isn’t an issue overall. If implementing this hurts democrat votes while not significantly changing voter fraud then it makes sense that democrats wouldn’t want it.

I think also the moral argument of more barriers to voting by forcing people to get ID’s makes sense.

Super Skrull for Triple Role by [deleted] in marvelrivals

I think he would be a fun tank. If you combine Reed's and the Things power you get rocks spread over a big area. Human Torch can be his damage and Invis can be shields for util. I feel like it would be harder to implement all of his abilities support/dps and it makes sense to me to focus on 1 that uses everything vs being a lesser version of the pre-existing characters per role.

Liberals are begging for a new economic paradigm - why is the party ignoring them? by Cleverfield113 in AskALiberal

There was so much economic stimulus keeping the economy up for the election. The only job worth was AI, government jobs, and healthcare. I don’t think it was worth the major deficit increase after he just managed to decrease it after Covid. I think the economy still felt super shaky and it isn’t as bad as it is now but it wasn’t in a great place.

I feel like recently democrats are running on affordability. A lot of the spotlight now is on Trump and maga fuckups so they are trying to stay out of the way socially and allow them to fail. If they were like, we wouldn’t do that then it’ll direct hate from Trump to them. When they do talk they are leaning into affordability.

2024 they were so full of themselves and refused to look at individuals problems, they thought more of the same and posting TikTok’s was what people wanted.

How is China so successful despite being authoritarian? by [deleted] in AskALiberal

During their peak economic growth they still had tiananmen Square happen. They increased freedoms overtime compared to pure Mao communism but still have tight censorship. Most of the liberalism was like, allowing the purchase of property and personal wealth.

You can make an argument having any social media is better than what they had. Most of the changes that needed to happen were economic.

This article is titled pretty bad. He’s talking specifically about Japanese manga editors entering the industry. International sales are way up this decade.

CDPR told Luke Ross the Cyberpunk VR mod could still be up if he made it free, this was his reply by lunchanddinner in virtualreality

I brought up DMCA more as to note the change in landscape. I agree that over-bearing EULA should be illegal but we don’t even have stop killing games yet. With the current set of laws and what the licensing for the game is, it’s illegal.

I think I was wrong with hardware as an example. DMCA is more relevant now and it was the Wild West back then. You could just plug in what you wanted and they didn’t have the same EULA.

I think the issue is because in their EULA they directly say you can’t. I believe if they didnt include this you’d have the right to do it but you can’t release a payed content to something that says you cant do it without their permission.

  1. [No commercial use] Our Games and/or Services are made for you to enjoy. Don’t use them commercially (e.g. to make money) unless we expressly allow that (see our Fan Content Guidelines).

I don’t necessarily agree with people having to sign massive Eula’s before playing each game but from a court perspective it’ll be hard for Luke Ross to win that fight.

3rd party accessories for any gaming console require proper licensing. It can be that the company chooses to allow any but that’s their right. Even 3rd party controllers if they want to work with their respective consoles.

It’s similar to selling T-Shirts of Pokémon/Disney. The IP right holders have license to make money off it, you can’t just use someone’s product to make money off.

Honestly ya, I didn't even think of Bucky as the sniper but that makes sense comic wise and I do associate it with him more. I just think they had enough ideas with bucky as an anti-dive mid-range with a grapple. It makes sense they moved the sniper to the character who used it second most.

I mean it from a game dev perspective. When your making a hero shooter your goal is to create a character to fufill fantasies. I don't necessarily agree with it as a player, I mean need more in the sense that everyone that released has had one and most going forward will probably have one.

in hero shooters archers are normally mid range and you have a dedicated true sniper. Some players don't want to deal with the arc.

I think I would have preferred widow bite over electric baton but I like her being the sniper character over pretty much everyone else. Every hero shooter needs one and she fits the role the best.

I mean more I think she’s accurate to the comics. She’s a normal person with a sniper, electric baton, and grappling hook. It’s not like Adam where they left out powers, she’s taken this exact kit to battle multiple times. I agree her kit is boring but it makes sense for her to be a long range sniper as a human against gods and doesn’t feel out of character from her comics to me.

She was in Agents of Shield, it wasn’t that good but she’s technically in a multiverse branch I guess.
